Costco - Toshiba HD-D2 HD-DVD Player

I was at a local Costco this afternoon and saw the Toshiba HD-D2 HD-DVD player for $349.99. There is also a "get 5 free HD-DVDs" offer that is valid until 7/31/07 that goes with it. I've been reading elsewhere online that the HD-D2 is the same thing as the HD-A2 but I'm not certain of that.

For $350 with about $100 worth of free movies I'm awfully tempted to jump on this deal and put my HDTV to better use. You can check out the player here on Costco's site but I don't see the free HD-DVD offer there.

I saw this last week and thought I had misread the model number when I went to look it up on the Toshiba website.

I was at my local Costco last week (Seattle) and they had 8 or so of the early HD-DVD releases for $18.99. Fine for me, I have the 360 add on, but no Blu-ray titles. I may pick up Batman next time.

so u mean $100 worth software from costco, right away besides 5 free dvds from toshiba

Just click the "add to cart" for the HD-A2 on that page, and you'll see the price.

Nope... I was referring to the HD-DVDs that you get by mail with purchase of the player.

Wow Chris, that is a better price. That is awfully tempting...
