The title is pretty much self-explanatory. What's you least favorite songs?

Mine are:
Korn - (pretty much all of his crap...)
Michael Jackson - (see above)

Anything hip-hop/rap, country, heavy-metal, bluegrass (my god!), and gospel.

What 'bout you guy's?

Re: Least favorite Songs

Disco...no, rap...no, hip-hop...no, disco...no, rap...ad infinitum

Re: Least favorite Songs

Generally whatever's on the radio being played 48 times per day, every half hour. Usually something by Beyonce or Justin Timberlake.

Also, all rap, hip-hop, and 95% of classic rock.

Disco would be welcome compared to most of this other crap.

I didn't care much for that song until I saw Boogie Nights, then I had a new appreciation for it.

One Bad Apple was The Osmonds, not The Jackson 5.

Never understood threads like these. List a few of your favorite songs, however, and I'm sure a few will be on my least favorite list.

Yeah, I never understood how passionate people get about a preference. Similar to food, when someone doesn't like something, they act SO AMAZED that other people do like it.

Me: "Let's get mushrooms on our pizza"
Them: "Ewwww! How the hell could you like mushrooms? They're so GROSS!"
Me: "STFU!!!!!"

That reminds me of the Avril Lavine thread where we were all excited about a concert DVD coming out and someone posted a smart ass remark about how 'unworthy' Avril was about having a DVD coming out. I got the last laugh when I looked through his online collection and found something like "Gilli" or "Glitter" in his collection.

OK, back to the topic:

My least favorite song would have to be that stupid rap/hip hop/dance'ish song (about 5 years ago, or so) that had that a sound effect of somone taking a puff of a cigarette and then blowing it out (in rythm to the music) Man, that annoyed the hell out of me.

Never heard that song, maybe we should search for it, listen to it, and degrade it!

Some guy on a Classic Rock radio station sung that song over the air... My god... I never even want to hear the original song it was TERRIBLE!

I think it is Foreigner. Not that bad a song, to me anyway. I've centainly heard much worse. But this is all "IMO" of course.

Re: Least favorite Songs

Yep, it was Foreigner.

My least favorite song ever is Come With Me---by Puffy and featuring Jimmy Page. That was just so wrong.

Re: Least favorite Songs

sometimes I think it's unfair to say "everything by ______" because I am of the belief that every artist out there has at least one good song in them. Even someone like Britney Spears or Michael Bolton, I can find at least one song that I kinda like.

Michael Jackson? yea, he is definately a freak and he hasn't recorded anything to write home about in 15 years, but ALL of his songs? Come on now, Off The Wall and Thriller were both ace albums.

Re: Least favorite Songs

now on topic, some songs I cannot stand:

Mo Money Mo Problems - Notorious B.I.G. (I did like Hypnotize)
My Immortal - Evanescence (I liked Bring Me To Life tho)
I'm Too Sexy - Right Said Fred (I actually did sorta like their followup single tho)
Ninja Rap - Vanilla Ice (well... I don't think he's given the world his "one good song" yet, LOL)
Blood On The Dance Floor by Michael Jackson (see a paragraph above, lol)
Everybody (Backstreet's Back) by Backstreet Boys (I did sorta like I Want It That Way)
Larger Than Life by Backstreet Boys
Let's Work by Mick Jagger (the Stones are loaded with classics, but this solo flop isn't one of them)
The Locomotion by Kylie Minogue (I like some of her latter stuff, but this was horrible)

i just picked the three songs that got waaaaaay overplayed in their hayday and made me the selective mp3 /nonradio listener i am today although Jack Black used the Katrina song quite effectively (i hate to admit) in Hi Fidelity.

i remember as a kid when i heard the first few notes of "we built this city" on the am radio, i'd scream "TURN THAT SH*T OFF!!!" and my friend just cracked up.

the worst is when you can't get that freaking song out of your head. MOTHER#$$#$^%#$^#$!!!!!

Re: Least favorite Songs

Milkshake, by Kelis. Ugh.

Re: Least favorite Songs

I'll pick five:
  • "My prerogative" - Bobby Brown
  • "I'll make love to you" - Boys to men
  • "Believe" - Cher
  • "Waiting for tonight" - Jennifer Lopez
  • "The right stuff" - New Kids on the Block
post #22 of 44

Re: Least favorite Songs

I wouldn't cry if almost every song from 1990 onwards was never played again.

I've always despised:

"Believe," Cher
"Born to Be Wild," Steppenwolf
"Children Will Listen," Stephen Sondheim
"For What it's Worth," Buffalo Springfield
"Imagine," John Lennon
"It's A Small World"
"In the Year 2525," Zager & Evans
"You Light Up My Life," Debbie Boone (will never forgive the Oscars for that one)
The theme to "Friends," and anything and anyone connected with that show.

And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is unimpressed with most "classic rock".

Re: Least favorite Songs

Anything Kenny G...
God I hate all that smooth jazz (elevator music) crap.
Give me Miles any day.

Re: Least favorite Songs

Yeah, this is really not such an interesting topic. A favorite songs thread could turn people on to something new and cool, but what's the point of this? To warn people away from Disco?

Re: Least favorite Songs

Lips of an Angel (mopey and tortured)
You're Not the One for Me (woo-hoo)
Most anything from Train (I have to hear at least six of their boring songs at work every day)

Re: Least favorite Songs

Red, Red Wine .... as soon as I hear those three words I shudder.

Me too. That would be "Don't Talk Just Kiss". I may still have the CD single.

I guess I'd have to agree with that. I'm guilty of throwing the term "all" around, but I can generally find at least one song that I can live with from nearly any artist.

I also find it kind of interesting that many of the selections of "worst" songs are often that artist's biggest hit ever. Is it really their worst song, or did we just get so sick of hearing it over and over and over again that we assigned that label?
