I had one of those giant plastic coke bottle coin holders (the ones that are about 3 feet tall) and it was filled about half way up. I had been filling it for YEARS!

I had to put all the coins in two giant Home Depot buckets because it was SO damn heavy! When I was at the coinstar machine, I was there a good 15-20 minutes. Everyone who walked by, would look at the total and their jaws would drop. LOL

As I wacthed the numbers go up and up, I actually felt like I was at a slot machine that had just hit big. If I had just taken the cash, I probably would have lost out on a good $40-$50 (I think they take 8%?), so the Amazon credit was well worth it!

Ansd not to go too far OT, but besides Amazon, it looks like you can do Circuit City, Borders and iTunes as well:

Thanks for the tip. I shop with several retailers shown in that link. Though I don't need anything from any of them now, I'll definitely cash in my big bag of coins in when I need something.

Re: Wow, Amazon.com is awesome!!!

Avoiding ebay because of a few bad apples is silly to me. What about all the other websites out there that aren't big like amazon or DDD? What about all the mom & pop physical stores? Could you get ripped off in any one of them, or just on ebay?

People talk about ebay like it's a store, but it's really just a place to advertise. If you bought something advertised on TV or in the newspaper & got a raw deal, would you say "Stuff advertised on TV is too risky"? Of course not, because the medium of advertising has nothing to do with how legit the product is.

Use a credit card for your purchases, and if you don't get the item, complain to your CC company.

Thanks to ebay & amazon I just got the current Photoshop CS2 for under $280, legally, including shipping. I bought a still-sealed & unregistered copy of 6.0 on ebay for $109, then bought the upgrade to CS2 new from amazon.

Without ebay it would have been a lot harder to find a new copy of 6.0 since it's been OOP a few years.

If I had just bought CS2 directly it would have cost double what I paid.

I look forward to taking advantage of their relationship with Coinstar. Free coin counting for credit at a place where I'm sure to use it.
I haven't used that coinstar thing in years, but now that I know I can cash in my coins for amazon credit I'll be sure to take advantage of that when I decide to cash in my change.

I am glad to see that Amazon is getting good ratings. I figured I was stuck with Circuit City or BB again when I get rady to buy a new tv this year. Prices look better and it looks like they ship it in decent time. Last time I was at circuit city a saleperson who clearly had no idea what he was talking about spat all over me when he was trying to explain 1080p. .

I have to tell you about my great experience with Amazon. I have been looking for a specific book for my grandson's birthday. No local stores had it, but it was available at Amazon. I need the book for his party this Sunday, so I ordered the book on Wednesday paid the $9.50 for second day shipment. I actually got the book in one day. That was a pleasant surprise.
