Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-6-2007

My Best Buy is selling Northern Exposure 6 for $39.99, which was also the advertised price. I wonder if this is an example of regional pricing.

Anyhow, Target got my money.

And, I think it'll be awhile before Sabrina: S1 drops down to the $5.50 bin....but, hey, ya never know.

I'm pretty sure it's actually just a reissue of the 2000 original release. I don't recall seeing a volume 2 on the DVD, but I will check to keep up with the new coverart.

As for Sabrina - I'll take it for 6.

If that's true...it's really lame. I have definitely seen this listed as Volume 2 on a number of lists.

Amazon is inconclusive. Although they do list one of their "combo deals" where you can buy both at the same time...HERE's release #1 with MArtin in Tut regalia. HERE'S release #2 with a head shot of Martin.

Release #1 is listed at 73 minutes. Can't find a running time on release #2.

THIS LISTING at DVDEmpire.com seems to indicate that release #2 has new material added onto it for a running time of 80 minutes.

Be sure to check out the bonus features you'll only see on The Best Of Steve Martin, including additional sketches and a never-before-seen sketch from Dress Rehearsal.

Picked up "The Ernest Hemingway Film Collection" at my Costco here in Portland for only $31.49! Great deal. Unfortunately they didn't carry "The Literary Classics Collection.

It looks like the coupon may be good at stores other than just Target. People at DVDTalk are saying that it is a manufacturer's coupon and they have used it at Wal-Mart and BB, but cashiers have had to put it through manually because it doesn't work when scanned. So YMMV.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-6-2007

It does seem to wait for New releases, especially ones that have single disk and double disk editions, the single disk versions seem to discount rather quickly.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-6-2007

Does anyone know if the Beverly Hills Cop Collection is in Widescreen? I seem to remember another set released in 2002 that was, but this one is not apparent.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-6-2007

In addition to the Hemingway box for around $30, Costco had the following assortment of other Fox/MGM boxes for that same price (it was $29.89 at my Costco):

Mr. Moto Collection, Voume 2 (Fox)
Charlie Chan Collection, Volume 1 (Fox)
Charlie Chan Collection, Volume 2 (Fox)
Charlie Chan Chanthology (MGM)
Alice Faye Collection (Fox)

Dennis: THIS LISTING at amazon.com says it is, indeed, widescreen.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-6-2007

Found some deals at Target today while picking up Peter Pan. All the copies of Borat had coupons for $2 off when you purchase Fast Food Nation on the same receipt. Not sure if this is available elsewhere or Target-specific.
The Loop was an unadvertised Price Cut for $9.99!
Fiddler on the Roof 2 disc SE was a Price Cut to $13.99 or $14.99, good until 3/24 IIRC.
They also had the Nerds boxed set for $19.99 (regular price).

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-6-2007

I picked up Peter Pan at one of my local Wal-Marts tonight for $15.87.

Also picked up A Man For All Seasons for $13.82. Probably would be able to do much better on that price...but want to watch it soon!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-6-2007

Happy Birthday Mike! hey you got warm weather for your birthday!! Lucky man!! A record 10 below Zero I believe Good DVD watching weather.

I got the Peter Pan disk at Target for $15.99 with the exclusive pin and the pin packaging taped to the cardboard artwork sleeve tore a chunk off when removed If I'd known it would do that I would have paid extra not to have the pin. And the $3.99 titles at CC were pretty much cleaned out by Wednesday at the Holyoke, MA CC. I was only interested in a couple of them anyway, but the ones I wanted were gone. They had lots of Beverly Hills Cop though.
