I didn't realize until I saw the ad that it's Season 2 of "The Office" that's part of this sale. Great price!

I didn't look at the email notification very carefully, either. I would have jumped on the Office. I see that the sale ends today, Feb 14. There is over a foot of snow between my car and the end of my driveway. Not sure if I will get to Borders today, or not. It is a definite incentive to get the snow removed, though.

Are only the titles pictured in the email on sale?

They let us out of work early yesterday because it started snowing. I went straight to Borders and picked up OFFICE, Season 2.

Yep, same here. Fortunately for me, there are two Borders en route home, so it wasn't too big a detour and the first one had it. I've been trying to curb some of my buying until I catch up a bit on watching, but this was just *too* good a deal to pass up....

FYI for future sales: I was unable to get to Borders by the 14th as well (for reasons other than snow, obviously ), so I clicked on the link in the e-mail Valentine's evening, meaning to buy on-line and pick a couple of sets up. Turns out the Border's site linked to doesn't take orders on-line, but you can reserve copies at your local store. I did this, brought in all the associated e-mails when I went to pick up the discs on the 16th and they honored the sale price. (Got the first seasons of House and How I Met Your Mother.)

Granted I ended up having to ge a managers approval and it took half an hour to get out of there, but that was because Dumb and Dumber at the register had a hard time grasping the concept. Even after the manager explained to them that the sale prices were valid, Dumb rang up House at full price - $66+ - because the boss had been holding my e-mail confirmation for HIMYM in his hand when he said "Still on sale." Then Dumber argued that House wasn't part of the sale. So I pointed out the little picture of it on the sale e-mail. "Oh, he didn't show us that", said Dumber. No, the manager hadn't shown them that, I had, not two minutes earlier, the last time one of them had suggested that one of the sets wasn't part of the sale. I had pointed to the pictures because they both seemed to have a problem with words, but was defeated by their gnat-like attention spans.

If the prices weren't so good in this instance I would never shop at Borders again.

Regards,

Joe

Acutally, the cashier wasn't "Dumber." If you looked closely at the e-mail sent to you originally it specifially said that there were no rainchecks and no holds. You shouldn't have had that set on sale held for you, and they actually shouldn't have sold you that set after the sale date for that price. The manager was being nice and bending the rules for you. You should be grateful, not calling the cashier names for doing their job correctly.
