Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007 - Page 2

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007

I noticed that Best buy does not seem to be discounting Blu-Ray titles at all. Are the prices mentioned above for The Departed, The Italian Job, etc., for this week really sale prices? Another reason I want to know is that I just receive some coupons that run from the 16th through the 19th, (sorry Mike!), and I know my BB won't give me the discount if they consider the titles to already be marked-down. Also, a blue shirt warned me yesterday that my local store will only have three copies of The Departed in Blu-Ray.

Thanks to other folks here, at DVDTALK, and CAG for this info.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007

For anyone interested, I just got back from my local Sam's Club and they had the six disc set, Beauty and the Beast: Season 1, for $29.99. $10 less than BB and CC.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007

Has anybody seen the Tom Hanks or Steve Martin collections at Sam's Club or Costco? I stopped by my local Costco (Arundel Mills, MD), and they did NOT have them.

This week at Circuit City, they have EXCLUSIVE MOVIE MONEY TO SEE TYLER PERRY’S DADDY’S LITTLE GIRLS in eight different TP titles...

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007

Can anyone comment on the actual features of the BB and Target exclusive editions of The Departed? Is there any additional DVD content in either beyond the standard 2-disc edition, or is it just packaging/ poster cards at BB and the script at Target?

Oh, frell. I knew I should have gone there and not BB.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007

I second Aaron's question exactly! While the Best Buy and Target promotions for The Departed two-disk edition are clear about the exclusive packaging, postcards and script, they also refer to exclusive content. However, even looking at the actual packages, I don't see that there is exclusive content. I've looked everywhere I can imagine online but can find no additional info. Has anyone purchased either of these who can confirm anything? Thanks!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007

The BB steelbook version has no additional DVD content from the two disk version -- just four, postcard-sized prints of what appear to be the theatrical posters. The packaging is pretty awesome, though.

I can't speak to the Target version, because I haven't seen it. I am curious about it as well.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007

Thanks, Franklin. I'm going to Target then -- I'd much rather have the script than postcards. If there's any extra DVD content, then that's bonus.

And when it comes to packaging -- well, the smaller, the better!

I'll post here once I get it, but I can't guarantee that'll be before Saturday.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007

If anyone with a Sam's Club membership is looking for a good deal on "All in the Family" Season 6, I found it yesterday at my local Sam's Club in Chesapeake,VA for 19.XX. YMMV, of course.

Glad I stopped in there first. I was prepared to go to Best Buy or Circuit City.

Yeppers. We have now moved on to Pokemon, Ben 10, and Martin Mystery. And Scooby is still high on the list.

Thanks for including kid titles in the roundups!

Answered my own question - Steve Martin and Tom Hanks collections are $12.88 at Sam's Club.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-13-2007

As far as I can tell without having opened the package yet, the Target edition of The Departed is just the regular 2-disc version with an unbound copy of the script shrinkwrapped to it (and a cardboard slipcase over both). The "Target Exclusive" sticker doesnt mention anything else.
