Jerome (and anyone else interested in The Last Unicorn),

It's not the best Roundup price, but if you buy the DVD here, http://www.conlanpress.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

you will be supporting the author, Peter S. Beagle, who otherwise is not seeing a penny of this DVD release (http://www.conlanpress.com/html/granada_f.html ). And if you want, you can get it autographed for your daughter.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

Just talked to my daughter who works at BB and she said American Psycho did not come out on BD. Anyone know what happened there? That was really the only thing I planned on picking up today.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

Well...because it was convenient I decided to swing by my local Wal-Mart tonight to pick up Flags of Our Fathers. I figured it would be marked down to a pretty good price and it was ($16.99). But...they only had three copies...and they were all MAR!

So, I figured I'd bite the bullet and head over to the neighboring Target...where I knew it was advertised at $19.99...but thought I'd check it out anyway. Nothing. Zero copies!

Anyone else have problems finding this today?

FWIW, I saw all the single-disc Bond titles for $9.44 at W-M. I saw Flicka, Running with Scissors, Hollywoodland, The Science of Sleep, 3-kajillion copies of Cinderella III (are you kidding me, people?), Hellboy, Romeo + Juliet (Music Edition) and Trust the Man. But NO Flags of Our Fathers?!?!?! Grrrrrrrrr. I haven't rushed out for a new release in months. I hate not getting instant gratification the few times I might want it! Guess I'll wait until I can get to Circuit City.

John: As you may be aware, I have had much confusion over HD & BD titles since they began rolling out months ago. As reflected in the grid above, BB did NOT post a listing/price for the BD version of American Psycho. But HERE is Amazon's listing which says it did, indeed, release today. Cool cover art, too...stylin'...uncluttered. Wish I could be of more help.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

Saw II 2 disc edition had the sale price on a sign hanging from the shelf at the Best Buy here, and it rang up for that, too. Odd how different stores do different things.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

Nothing for me this week, cept the new Best Buy Blu-Ray deal. I picked up Black Hawk Down and Talladega Nights with the Buy one get one deal a few weeks ago, and looks like I'll pick up Click and Into the Blue this time around.

I'm enjoying these buy one get one sales. Even though the titles aren't great (I assume they're all Sony releases?), they're still entertaining movies, and they truly show off the power of Blu-Ray.

My PS3 is getting a lot of love, I wish there were some good deals on HD-DVD discs like this, so I could spin up my 360 a lil more often!

As always, thanks for the roundup!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

Thanks Mike. I'll have to cruise by Frys tonight and pick it up there instead.

As a result of the Round Up I picked up House of Flying Daggers and Fifth Element on BluRay on the B1G1F at BB deal too!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

No problem finding Flags of Our Fathers for me. I got it for $14.99 at CC along with 4 Bonds at $7.99 each. It was a good day.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

The Circuit City I went to near the Galleria in Houston has "Gone With The Wind" on sale for $9.99, and their sales staff insisted it was not the 2 disc special edition, but rather the older one disc edition. However, the UPC code on the package (which says nothing about the number of discs inside) matches that listed for the 2 disc special edition on IMDB (12569 68000). So I took a chance on it, and lo and behold -- the case contains two discs.

The other sale specials that I checked were "as advertised", including "Flags of Our Fathers" for $14.99 (plenty of copies on the shelf) and the six James Bond titles for $9.99 each or $7.99 each if you buy two or more on the same receipt. They had all six in stock, but only a few copies of a couple of the titles -- and this was on Tuesday, so they will probably run out of those by the end of the week.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

I think I just ran into some stores with lazy shelf stockers yesterday. Ended up back at that same Wal-Mart tonight and they had plenty of "Flags" up on the shelves. Got my WS copy!

Now I just need to get to my local BB for Here Comes Mr. Jordan.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

Nothing for me this week (tho "Hollywoodland" is a tempting rental). My local Target had ALOT of titles not advertised:
Several (4?) James Bond discs at $9.99; Hellboy at $14.99, Delirious at $14.99 and also saw Arabian Nights, but can't remember the price.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

OK, the weird thing - I went to Frys and they didn't have American Psycho either??? So we stopped by a different Best Buy for something else and they had plenty of copies on the shelf - must have been a late delivery or another one of those lazy issues....

I've noticed a bit of the same here. BD and HD-DVD titles that don't show up on Tuesday are almost always there by Thursday afternoon. I assume it's a distributor issue so I've been ordering everything from Amazon. If I'm not going to get it till Thursday I might as well have it delivered to me at home.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 2-6-2007

When are the remaining Bond films coming out individually?
