Good Night, and Good Luck Blu-Ray problem: PS3?

Thread Starter
I finished watching this movie about an hour ago. Fantastic film that looks stunning in HD on BD. However, I had a serious problem with the disc. When I entered the pop-up menu, I had issues. The top-most level was the only one I could control (Languages, Scene Selections, Extras). Once in a second level menu, such as scene selections, I could not control the cursor. I couldn't select a different scene, and once in the extra features sub-menu, I could do nothing. I had to stop the disc and start over. The other sub-menus would allow me to re-press the menu button to dismiss the menu. Not the extra features menu. Have any of you experienced anything like this? I bought the disc yesterday, so I can exchange it, if it's a disc issue. I haven't heard of anything like this, and haven't experienced it before. Just wanted to get some feedback from you guys before I head back to BB tomorrow. Please let me know of your experiences. Thanks so much!

Re: Good Night, and Good Luck Blu-Ray problem: PS3?

Older thread up.

I experienced similar problems some time ago with PS3 (older firmware, probably around 1.50) and I read a few similar things from the AVSforums also. Probably PS3 related. I have to check the disc with new 1.80 firmware, though.

Anyone else? I mean people must own this disc, quality film and all.

Re: Good Night, and Good Luck Blu-Ray problem: PS3?

Just bought this title on Amazon's buy 1 get 1 free deal and I had the same problem. Only workaround I've found is to use the 'Go To' function and select Title 5 or 6 (trailer and doc) and hit the Audio button to bring up the commentary.

Re: Good Night, and Good Luck Blu-Ray problem: PS3?

I'm glad to find this thread since I experienced this flaw on my PS3 ( running software v2.1 ) - this may be a fault of the authored disc more than the PS3 - we will see when they get to Profile v2.0 upgrade on PS3....
Is it possible to switch to Commentary Audio track from the Blue Tooth remote? ( without doing the DVD menu setup ? )

Re: Good Night, and Good Luck Blu-Ray problem: PS3?

This might work:

"-Select "Options" (Triangle) and then select "Go To" ("right turn" symbol - Title, in the lower left corner):
*"Title 5" for "Theatrical trailer"
*"Title 6" for "Companion Piece"-featurette"

You can of course choose the Audio commentary by pressing the "audio" from you remote.
