Greetings,
I am new to this forum, and would appreciate advice from knowledgeable home theater folks.
Location is metro Atlanta area.
HT consists of a ceiling mounted RUNCO DTV-943 CRT projector installed late '99. System also includes B&K Reference 20 A/V controller, amplifier, Scientific Atlanta HD cable box/DVR, Sony DVD player. It is controlled via a Niles Intellicontrol.
The power cable of the RUNCO is connected to a separate Niles RF-controlled AC switchbox which is in turn plugged in to a standard 120 V AC outlet.
Returned from a trip last week and was unable to power up the projector.
The projector's main power on/off switch was on. The projector did not power on with either the Niles remote or its own remote even with its own power cable plugged directly into the AC outlet bypassing the Niles switchbox.
My fear is that the power supply inside the RUNCO has been fried by 7 years of power spikes experienced each time the entire system was turned on by the Niles Intellicontrol giving the switchbox power. An HT person described it as basically plugging and unplugging the power cord on the projector each time. None of the red 'standby' lights on the front of the projector are illuminated.
Does anyone have any sage advice? Any references to knowledgeable RUNCO experts in the metro Atlanta area who could do some diagnostics and determine if the unit is repairable for less than the cost of a new projector?
Any help appreciated!
