I've looked around the Internet from time to time to see if there would ever be any movement on this Showtime original series but it doesn't seem like there has been. I know the segments where he'd have a musical guest play on his show are probably the main licensing nightmare that's preventing this show from getting to DVD. I always would like the original intact version of a show, but is there any chance they could just license the most important musical acts or a select few or even cut the guest musical performances if it would at least get the show out on DVD in some form? I caught a few early season episodes but I'd really like to see the last season and others I missed in the first two. Problem is it's never even re-run on cable anymore and I don't have any Showtime channels on the off chance they'd re-run it. Does Showtime own the DVD rights? Is it ever gonna be out? Seems like I've been waiting years to see it again, it's frustrating.

Re: Anyone have a status update on The Chris Isaak Show coming to DVD?
I'd love to see this out on DVD too. As far as I know, Showtime only re-ran a handful of S3 episodes about a year after the last original episode aired in spring 2004; if there've been any on the schedule since then, they've slipped under my radar.I'm assuming music rights could be a hold-up. A lot of the songs were written by Isaak, who co-executive-produced the show, but many weren't. IMDB lists production companies involved as C.I. Productions / Once and Future Films / Phoenix Pictures / Showtime Networks. Viacom's somewhere in the mix too. The "C.I." in C.I. Productions is Chris Isaak; does that mean that ultimately Chris Isaak himself owns the series?
BTW, if you're jonesing for some of Isaak's brand of humor, I can recommend the collection of video clips that came out earlier this year. He provides a commentary track for the entire program that's done in his typical self-deprecating humorous style. Very funny stuff.
