It would be much appreciated if the most optimal calibration settings could be posted about the md1000. I own one and have read lots of articles that say it needs tweaking, but none of they tell the reader what menus to change to what.

Here is a review that includes the recommended setup. Note - this should get you closer, but no two boxes are exactly the same...

Gamma Mode: Cinema
Contrast: +4
Brightness: +4 (might want to bump to +5 or +6)
