I got my replacement disc (for Superman: The Movie; I didn't buy the Ultimate Collection) in the mail a couple days ago.

I received my replacements on Tuesday. I popped the STM disc in the player, it was nice to hear the old soundmix again.

I tried to do something with the king kong tin had advertising and a mail away offer for a poster...I did the same with the Forbidden planet tin.....should I be suprised superman is more of the same? To be honest Warners Canada really gets under my skin. They never return emails and I have never gotten a live person to call me back regardless of the problem. for a large company they should really get their act together.

My discs got back to Warner's a week ago Monday and I was getting impatient so I called them. She asked for zip, first name, last name and "They should be there any day." Real nice, efficient, just wish I had the discs instead of an assurance they were on the way.

lol,i would like to stress that thedigitalbits claimed that we will get a NEW Superman set with a different UPC in mid JAN and none of that happened yet....maybe since it's the beginning of the year, maybe we should count how many lies and claims they make.

Actually the article in question from the Digital Bits Daily Column from 12/21 states:

First up... Superman. Warner Home Video has informed us that the fixed discs for the Superman: The Movie 4-disc set and the 14-disc Superman Ultimate box set are about to arrive from the replicator, which means they should START shipping out to those of you who called their 800 number (800-553-6937) over the next few days. Obviously, you'll need to be patient what with the Christmas mail slow down and the fact that TONS of people have been (and will be) calling the 800 number... but it looks like the discs are at least finally ready to ship. That also means that you should start seeing the fixed Superman 4-disc set and 14-disc Ultimate box in stores by mid-January. They'll have new SKU numbers to identify them, and we'll let you know what they are as soon as Warner informs us.

The Digital Bits states we should get them by mid-January. Not that we will get them in Mid-January. So no one lied. It was only speculation. There is a difference between lying about something and speculating about something.

I assume that means there will be a new SKU number for the Christopher Reeve Superman Collection as well? I've been holding off on buying that one until the fixed sets are out.

Yes, The Digital Bits should be held responsible for when Warner Brothers ships out new versions of this set.

I'm a Canadian customer, called December 20th (then found out I had to email the company handling the Canadian replacement program). I emailed on Jan 9th, and just received my mailer today (19th). Will mail away on Monday.

Got my replacements today. 6 week turnaround, I guess.

For those of you who are concerned about disc damage, rest assured. My discs came in those fabric (Tyvek) CD slip cases inside the cardboard mailer. Perfect art, perfect playing surfaces.

I received a letter from Costco today that explained the entire Superman exchange program (since that is where I purchased my set). The envelope also included a letter from Warner Brothers explaining which discs are involved, the exact problems with them, and how to go about exchanging them. I was already aware of the problems and have my replacement discs in hand but I thought that was a really classy move by Costco.

Received my replacement Thursday - exactly 2 weeks after I mailed my defective discs back to them. Thanks to Warner Bros. for handling this whole situation so well. Excellent work as far as I am concerned!

Got my envelope yesterday (I was one of the first to call for it, but they took down my address wrong, anyway....) and sent in the discs. Here's hoping my experience shows the same efficiency everyone has said they experienced.

I recieved my discs in Australia today straight up. It asks me to return the other discs, but I'm not paying the postal service to return something to Warner since I don't have to.

Look, the US recieved a pre-paid mailer, and they cannot provide that to international customers. I'm happy to destroy the discs and email Warner if that makes it any better, but I'm not paying $10 for the pleasure of returning the defective product if there's no need to.

Just wondering if anyone is still waiting for their replacement envelope to arrive? I've called three times -- December 1st, December 20th and January 17th. The first time they just took my phone number, the second time they took my name and address. The last call said they ran out of envelopes but more were due in that day and I was "promised" that my request would be processed immediately. As of yesterday's mail, still no envelope.

It's great to read all these threads that people have received their discs. I'm curious if there's an even greater number of people who have yet to be initially processed.

Thanks for letting me put in my $0.02...

Indeed, but not prepaid. I'm not paying to return something that shouldn't have been defective in the first place. Superman III's screw up was just stupid.
