In 1994 a friend gave me a cassette tape with songs by varoius artists on it. (old fashioned pirating) One of which was a very fun song about home rennovation. I've long since lost the tape. All I remember is that it was a christian artist - I'm pretty sure christian rock. The song was just a vocalist and guitar with a coutry/folksy beat. It started with the words;
"There a house in a town at the top of a hill..." or something like that.
It then goes on to tell the story of how he got a great 'deal' on a fixer-upper which turned into it's own money-pit.
The end of the chorus was;
"I'd like to thank the Lord above for the help he's given but most of all I'd like to thank the bank"
I've tried googleing the lyrics and come up empty. I've lost touch with the friend. I just hope someone here is familiar enough with the genre/artist or a genius Googler who can help out. I'd greatly appreciate it.
