You can listen to the new John Mayer cd Continuum over at MSN today.

I'm on my second listen and the jury is still out on this one.

I find his new cd a little too slow and tedious for my liking. I always found myself defending him to friends in the past because I loved his previous albums, but outside of maybe three tracks, I'm just not clicking with this album

Yes, it is a bit on the mellow side compared to his previous material, but I still think it's great stuff. I think he's showing more sides of himself, painting in a lot of different colors if you will. Give it some more time, it'll grow on you. These lyrics are easily his best yet.

Contiuum is amazing. The latter half is far more slow than the first half but even then its good.
But it's not everyone's cup of tea, he did leave a lot of the "pop" stuff behind, while still maintaining some of it. its a mix of R&B, Blues, Rock, Ballad, Pop and etc. "Heart of Life" to me sounds like it could've been something George Harrison wrote and recorded.
