I just noticed this. When I was watching my KING OF THE HILL Season 5 DVD in Dolby Pro Logic II cinema mode (what I always watch these DVDs in), the left and right speakers had what sounded like faint drop-outs whenever dialogue was occurring on screen. What I mean is: The dialogue, which is loudest and centered mainly in the center speaker (as it should be in this mode, correct?), seems to faintly spill over onto the left and right speakers, and it fades in and out on the LR speakers. This is only noticeable, however, when I put my ear to the speaker. Otherwise the dialogue and the rest of the soundtrack sounds crisp and balanced at my usual listening distance.
Is this just the way Pro Logic II works or how the DVD is encoded, or is this the result of frayed or incorrectly hooked up speaker wires? I recently reconnected my speakers with freshly cut speaker wire and I know the polarity is correct (double checked it on the Avia setup DVD as well). BTW: I'm using a Denon AVR-1705 and JBL E80 Northridge speakers for my LR and the EC35 for the center.
