Re: Book Forum
I like this idea too... There are a ton of good book series I'd love to discuss with the folks around here. Plus, it would keep the Harry Potter threads out of the AH forum and somewhere they belong.

I'd like to see that happen, for selfish purposes: it would get me back to reading regularly again. I've not touched a book in 9 months...--

Re: Book Forum
Perhaps to go with that, an Audio books subforum?

Re: Book Forum
Guys,Very much appreciate the suggestions to add a Books forum.
Unfortunately, we have decided not to add such a forum at this time.
The problem we see is that a "books" or (as has also been suggested)
"jokes" forum falls under the blanket of Off Topic, which we
have a specific area for.
Other than the After Hours Lounge, we find that any areas
we add that go off the beaten path of "Home Theater" tend not to
gather much interest. We would much rather have such discussions
steered to our off-topic area.

What about audio books though? These are things that could be played through one's home theatre system, and some of them are full-on radio plays these days (I mean, besides the obvious Hitchhikers, there is the LOTR BBC ones, the first Lemony Snicket book, the Deathstalker ones, just to name a few).
I'm sure that given time, we'll start to see some of these on DVDs and/or in 5.1 surround. Would that be a more appropriate time to re-open this discussion, or?
