tv programming section idea/request

Thread Starter
so over hear at my favorite forum in the tv section each show has 1 long thread for each show.

over at another dvd talk board they break down the threads for each seperate episode.
example

Lost "the Glass Ballerina" 10.11.2006

or just the date if the show doesnt have a title.

seems lke a good idea

instead of one long gigantic thread on Lost there would be
a new one each weak for each specific episode
with the title and date of the episode in the title of the thread.

possibly a synopsis of the ep in the first post

just throwing out ideas

Re: tv programming section idea/request

I like the idea but I don't think it's practical for the way our TV forum typically runs. You'd end up with *a lot* of threads with not very many responses. Only the most popular shows (like Lost or Desperate Housewives) would generate enough interest to make individual episode threads actually be viable.

Really, I like the idea as well, but am sceptical that it would
work for the reasons stated above.

Re: tv programming section idea/request

It used to be like that. That format was abandoned for a reason.

It's fine as it is...

Re: tv programming section idea/request

Here at HTF, I think it works best with one thread per series.

If it were a forum just for one show, BSG, 24, Smallville, Lost, take your pick, then sure, a thread for each episode. But for most people here, any one show is just a small part of what they watch.

Tony:

Thanks for the suggestion but as stated we tried something similar in the past and it didn't work as well as putting them all in one thread. Typically you can just go to the last post in the thread to keep up with the latest episodes.
