Adventures of Pete & Pete- Season 3. Where are you?

The final season of 'Pete and Pete' was supposed to have been released in January 2006 but was pulled. Will this set ever see the light of day?

I posed that exact question here a month or two ago. Sadly, it seems that there simply isn't any word on the third season of this wonderful gem of a show.

How sad that the show came not only so close to being complete on DVD (season three was the last), but that the absent season itself came so close to being released--details on the release including the cover artwork were posted on tvshowsondvd.com. I imagine that at least some authoring work was almost certainly done on the discs. I wonder if perhaps some DVDs were even pressed and are now sitting in a wherehouse somewhere. It's terribly sad to think about that and realize that we'll probably never be able to get our hands on it.

We'll see them eventually, I'm sure. It's just a shame there's been such a delay and no end seems to be in sight.

I have a feeling they're keeping this on hold because they are planning some kind of big "REWIND" collection push. I figured we'd see a lot more nick shows as the months went on... but sadly, only 3 sets have even been released in the collection. (Pete & Pete: Season 1, and 2, and Clarissa Explains It All: Season 1)

I too am looking forward to this one. Artwork was made; I'm sure extras/commentaries were recorded...and now it's collecting dust. I hope we get it sometime in 2007.

I hope they come out with the rest of Clarissa Explains It All... I bought the first season and I'd love to have the others..I really hope they bring back the rewind collection and finish off both series and make some new sets.

Well, well, well...it looks like Endless Mike is now working at Paramount's DVD division and eating Neapolitan ice cream at his desk while we continue to pine for Season 3.

I seem to remember that although the first Pete and Pete did some pretty respectable sales figures, both the Second Seasons set and the First Clarissa set sold very poorly, and the entire line was scrapped, at least for the time being.

With "complete series" editions now being the rage at Paramount (TWIN PEAKS, DR. KATZ), could there be hope that maybe this will be the approach for Season 3?

Now that Paramount has started licensing to other studios your best bet would probably be to start hounding companies like Shout! Factory.

Does anyone have Paramount's contact information? Four years later and nothing! All thats left is the third season, the remaining shorts, and if they're nice, some promo spots. I bet commentaries were already recorded for the 2006 canceled release. There is word that the nicktoon MODs are getting official releases this year. Maybe this is a possibility.
