Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

Thread Starter
Whenever I right-click anywhere, I now get a ********** dialog saying "Function Disabled!" I always use this to open threads in different windows, so it's very annoying. (Yes, I can hold down the Shift key while I click a link, but it's not as convenient.)

(Hmm, I guess you can't say "Java" and "Script" together....)

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

I too use it to open threads in a new window. Hopefully this will be changed back very soon.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

Put me down for another one who opens new windows. I don't like the right-click disable function.

Kinda like when DVD's won't let you skip FBI warnings.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

I also open up many threads at once via right-click. Please remove this "feature"!

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

I use it to edit quotes.
The old quote system allowed me to copy and paste and I found that very useful and handy.
With the new quote device, people often just leave the whole damn post in their reply.
This is particularly lazy and irritating when it's a long post and they regurgitate it in the very next entry.
So, I cut, I edit....with the right click....but this evening THAT was not possible, had to use the delete key.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

Ditto. I'm assuming this is an error, and not intentional. Cause it sure is a major pain in the ass.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

I get the same and it sucks!

Damn, I never thought about that. Yeah, that would suck if this doesn't go away. I had to hit the quote button, then delete the portion of your post I didn't want. Not a big pain, but I'd prefer to copy and paste.

p.s. I just realized you can highlight the text and do Ctrl + C, but not having the right click method is rough.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

hopefully this isn't going to be a permanent function.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

Add me to the chorus. I use it to open links in new tabs via right click mouse gestures. The gestures still work, but I have to keep closing the little "disabled" window.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

I am glad others are having issues. When I first got the pop up, I thought maybe I caught a virus or some sort of spyware.

Put me in the category of users who right click frequently (open new windows, copy/paste, etc.).

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

I use right-click here as well and I'm hoping this is temporary.

In the meantime, I've found that ctrl-left click opens a link into a new tab in Firefox.

"All your right click are belong to us!"

Another vote, here, for "Sucks" and I hope it's not permanent.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

I just moved my laptop into the living room where I don't use a mouse and this disbaled right click is REALLY getting annoying. I use the right click to go back one page, but now I have to go up and click the back button. Too much moving around on this damn track pad. Me no likey!

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

I do a lot of cutting and pasting using the right click method and this is indeed very annoying.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

Same problem here - really irritating.

In addition to using right-clicking to cut/paste & edit things, I also use the copy function to copy the entire post before hitting "submit", especially when I've written a long detailed message. This has saved my butt many times in the past when the server was too busy ("page can't be found") or my browser became unstable and crashed, etc (I do this with emails too).

I agree, it's highly annoying. Absolutely hate it.

Same thing on my Mac. It sucks. Please "able" this back.

Re: Right-click: "Function Disabled!"

Okay, now it's getting really annoying. Firefox 2.0 (Beta) has an automatic spell-checker. You know how it works. If Firefox thinks you've misspelled a word, it immediately underlines it. Now you can simply right click on it.... oh no wait. You can't!!
