Wow, these things are just getting cheaper and cheaper. I almost went for it at Best Buy with the Labor Day 10% off...but now...I think I will still hold off. Still waiting for that killer app. Maybe Batman Returns?

That 42% off figure ($295.15 off) is based on a list price of $699.99. But that's incorrect; the MSRP of the A1 is actually $499.99. So the savings is not 42%, it's 19%.

I, too, am waiting for 2nd generation players with HDMI 1.3, but I'm also waiting for AV receivers with HDMI 1.3 as well.

The HD-A2 will be coming out in October. Toshiba is not putting 5.1 analog audio outs on the Gen2 entry level unit, so the only way to get DD TrueHD will be through HDMI.

Figures. My HDTV and receiver do not have HDMI capability.
