Rick,
I understand. I am a purist at heart, especially when it comes to pitch (yet less so when it comes to instrumentation). The rescorings of the original music (the two Sarabande CDs of Fred Steiner) are IMO very well done, and in great part are faithful to the originals, although strictly speaking, not identical. I like the fact that the original composer and conductor is at the helm. The aspects I have observed that are in any way changed are instrumentation (in a couple of cases) and tempos. I am not aware of any changes in pitch. If I were, these would bother me greatly, as I have absolute pitch, and find change in pitch more than ten cents either way to be a flagrant violation to my ears.

Wow, that's an awesome catch. I wonder--is it McCoy on a different day or segment of shooting, or is it a 'standby arm'?

Here are a couple of other neat ones, although these are script-related and not as visually interesting as the example you mentioned above, and which I will have to check out now that you've mentioned it.

Capt. Christopher, in
Tomorrow Is Yesterday, reiterates (incorrectly) what Spock says with regard to Christopher's 'relevant contribution'--and Spock agrees with Christopher's erroneous reiteration--in essence agreeing with the error. (Spock even says "poor choice of words on my part"--LOL.)
Spock: "I have run a check on all historical tapes. They show no record of any relevant contribution by John Christopher."
(later)
Christopher: "Why? You said I made no relative contribution."
Spock: "Poor choice of words on my part."

And in
Devil in the Dark, we have the infamous "thousands of" line of Spock's, when in fact, Vanderberg actually said (prior to Spock's line) "millions of them."
Spock: "Mr. Vanderberg, what is this?"
Chief Vanderberg: "It's a silicon nodule. Millions of them are down there."
(later)
Spock: "You recall that Vanderberg commented there were thousands of these at a lower level--"

Just some food for thought.

Incidentally, I have many visual gaffs (like the example of Gav above) that I will post on occasion. Is it okay to post things like this in this thread? If not, another could be started.
