Punky brewster season 4 question

OK,theres only 1 season left , anybody think theyll release it in time for christmas ?Also if im not mistaken, all the cartoons have now been released spread across the 3 seasons. So if there is no cartoons, this next set will be barebones unless theyll get more cast interviews.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

I wouldn't expect to see S4 this year, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the 1st quarter of '07. As for the cartoons - they haven't all been releassed on the first 3 seasons. By my count, there are 8 remaining. Hopefully all of them make it onto the eventual S4 release.

Wheres the release date for the final season ?

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

I'm sure Shout! wouldn't cut and run on a four season show with only one season left. That's something Sony might do . If we don't see any rumblings by the spring, then you can panic.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

Hi Matt, I know shout wouldnt abandon the show with 1 season left. I was just hoping since there is only 1 left, they would get it out quicker than the previous seasons.Maybe anchor bay has spoiled me with the way they chugged out threes company, and im expecting it way too soon from shout, lol !

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

You could always e-mail Shout! and ask about the Punky Brewster: S4 set...

info@shoutfactory.com

I asked them about Punky: S4 back in October and they didn't have any info for me... :-/

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

Slightly off topic , 1 question for a friend. A friend of mine wants to know, if he buys season 1 of punky from amazon, if the problem that 1 of the cartoons had is corrected now ? I know when I bought season 1 back in 2005 the cartoon was still edited.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

I do not know but if Shout Factory actually fixed the disc then they should send me and others a replacement instead of a DVD-R of the cartoon intact.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

Well, my friend got his season 1. He claims when glomers story end with the credits , its official running time is 24 minutes and 25 seconds. In the last shot of the episode it shows punky hugging glomer.Havent watched mine in a while, but it sounds like shout factory corrected the problem in newer pressings.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

Still no date for season 4, but on amazon they have preorders for punky volume 1-5 coming july 10.I cant believe shout factory is already releasing best of punky dvds, without getting season 4 out .

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

That would be a shame, not to mention just plain tacky, if Shout! Factory did a best-of without doing season 4.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

The only way I would buy one of those best of volumes if they are actually released before season 4, is if they sneak a couple season 4 episodes in there. It wouldnt hurt if theres a Soleil interview either.

I was wondering about this but then I recalled that there was something with the Transformers DVD sets. Some of the voice actors could not be interviewed because of SAG/AFTRA regulations, to which Rhino was not a signatory. If Shout! is not a signatory, and Soleil belongs to an actor's union, this could be why such a feature hasn't been included yet.

A watched pot never boils, Tony.

BTW, all the last three were announced after I got back from a vacation. I'll be vacationing in New York in a couple weeks.

We are now into April, and still no word on the final season.I wonder if this new shout factory distribution deal, means itll take longer for the release.I hope not.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

I don't know what is going on, but maybe (and this is based entirely on speculation): Sony Pictures Television, which had no involvement in these discs despite owning US syndication rights and producing the last two seasons, got wind of these DVDs and wants a cut. It was more than a year between seasons 2 and 3.

I will not pay one thin dime for compilations of episodes I already own.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

I agree , since I already have the 3 seasons no reason to buy the comp discs. But what if those comp discs have a few season 4 episodes, and at that point season 4 still doesnt have a box set? I might have to get those then.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

I also read in another thread that when Universal allowed third parties to license TV shows (which is how Shout! got ahold of McHale's Navy and Ironside, and TV Guide got Banacek), they charged a fortune in licensing fees.

I've learned that with this show patience is a virtue. What's gonna be? Guess we'll just wait and see.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

I was just looking at an old news item on tv shows on dvd.com, dated 4/8/06.It said that shout already had the rights to season 4 and was already working on it.

Plans change. Just because TSoD reported, in a year-old article, that S4 was being worked on doesn't mean it'll ever be released (or that it was ever being worked on, they may have gotten bad information from Shout!). Do you know how many articles (at TSoD and elsewhere) have reported that a certain show will be released, only for it to never be released (or be released years later)?

Believe me, if there's an official announcement for S4 TSoD will report on it and it'll be posted here. Until then, can you please stop bumping this thread every other day?

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

Sorry for bumping this thread again, but this time I have a good reason.Last week dvd file.com, posted a news item stating that the best of dvds, coming in July are simply going to be season 4 split up in volumes !!! I hope this is a mistake, or a typo or something.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

I read it on Shout Factory's forum in an unrelasted thread about C.O.P.S. that these are just the individual discs of previous season releases. So I think 6 volumes are Seasons 1 Disc 1-4 and Season 2 discs 1-2.

Re: Punky brewster season 4 question

I hope youre right, but shout factory usually isnt so hush hush about stuff like this, strange.
