Well I didn't know my last name was popular at all but there is an entry in Wikipedia and an actual city by the same name.

Halvorson is #5082. A lot of my mail is addressed to Halverson - number 2893 - but I'm a Halvorson, not a Halverson.

I wonder if there are more people in the US with Scottish and Irish last names than there are in the British Isles.

We tend to breed a lot over here in the New World.

In the link in the first post and Holadem's post, my last name and my mom's maiden name aren't in there. Then again, my last name is 11 letters long and it was misspelled at Ellis Island, where it was actually lengthened by 2 letters!

My sister's fiancee's last name is 337 in the first one, 373 in the second one.
