15" Subwoofer recommendations - Page 2

Re: 15" Subwoofer recommendations

Assuming that after you add more bracing, the net enclosure size is 42cf after additional bracing and ports, then a pair of 8" ports, 32" long would give you an Fb of 13hz. Most use longer ports and trim them down as required.

Re: 15" Subwoofer recommendations

Ok, so you think I should trim the ports to 32". Any other suggestions before I close it up?

Thanks,

Re: 15" Subwoofer recommendations

Just the additional MDF that Steve suggested.

And the port length of 32" is based on an internal port diameter of 8". If it is not exactly 8", then we need to make adjustments. If you bought an 8" Quicrete tube, they all are not the same size.

The Quikcrete tube is acutally 8.25" on the ID.

Re: 15" Subwoofer recommendations

Then using the full 36" ports will tune your box to 12.65hz. That small difference is not enough to worry about actually trimming down the ports.
