Looks like Season 5 of The A-Team will be 3 single-sided DVDs.

Universal has confirmed our weekend report that we can expect The A-Team - Season 5 (the final season) on October 10th. The set will go for $49.98 SRP, for 3 single-sided DVDs. Running time is 10 hours, 23 minutes. Video is full frame, and audio is English mono with English subtitles. Stay tuned for cover art, plus any additional info, when the studio makes that available!

That's good. I didn't have as many problems with the doubles as some did, but I finally got a freezer with Adam-12. Works on the computer, but not the standalone. It'll be better for peace of mind on singles.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

Finally its announced. Now the question is has Universal done away with the double-sided discs or are they singles just because its a short season (like Battlestar Galactica, Incredible Hulk, etc)

The Rockford Files Season Two wasn't short and it got single sided discs.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

Just about every recent Universal title has been announced on singles, I believe. I guess they got tired of all the returns.

Ugh. Seeing Vaughn on the cover reminds me of how crappy season five was. I don't know if I can go forward with it.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

Yippie! I'll pick this up to complete the set! Plus I have the $5 coupon from season 4.

NOW ALL WE NEED is the A-team movie whenever they plan on filming that!

That site isn't more useful. They only post one out of every five DVDS that are going to be released on a certain day.

Do it for the 'Say UNCLE Affair' episode.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

Aaaaah, single sided at last. A case of "too little, too late" as far as The A-Team is concerned (I bought R2 for seasons 1-3 and eventually 4 which wasn't a perfect solution but at least all the episodes play properly) but at least there's now hope for stuff like "The Equalizer" should they ever decide to release it!

I hope there's a high defect rate on them, so people will want them to stop putting out single-sided DVDs as well.

Can't wait for season 5 of the A-Team to come out. It is a fun show to watch.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

I guess its too much to hope for some new interviews with the 'surviving' stars or a tribute to George Peppard.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

I definately can't go forward with purchasing season 5. It was no longer the a-team anymore. I caught the S5 episodes on tvland recently to make sure it was as bad as i remembered and yes it was god aweful. I am happy owning the first four-seasons thats good enough for me

Could this actually be some interviews with the cast

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

That would be great if there was at least something extra on one of these sets. It's a shame that there hasn't been a single extra to this point. I'm really not planning on picking up season five. What a dog that was. I doubt I'd really want to watch any of those eps on DVD since I always skipped A-Team for a while whenever season five came up in syndication.

Has anybody seen this in the stores yet? Every store I went to doesn't have it yet

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

I got mine this evening from Amazon, along with Scrubs S4; Magnum S5; Harvey Birdman Vol. 2 and Flintstones S2-5. I don't much remember Season 5 for A-Team, tho I do seem to recall Frankie Rodriguez and Vaughn as Gen. Stockwell. I really mourned the loss of Melinda Culea after only 26 episodes. Have only watched most of Disc 1 in Season 3, so I have some catching up to do and too large of a collection to ever do so, I guess.

I saw it for sale in the local Future Shop this afternoon....not very many copies though. So they are out there....in Canada anyway.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

Finally single-sided. dvd-18 stinks. I purchased the first four seasons of the A team and had a problem with the following episodes:

It's A Desert Out there- Freezes four minutes into chapter four. Fortunately it played on my other machine.

Skins- The Picture breaks up and the disk freezes.

Champ-Same problem.

Fortunately both played on my Durabrand dvd player.

Anybody see this at WalMart? It's on the website but I haven'n't seen it in store yet.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

I was at Wal-Mart and haven't noticed the A Team or magnum P.I. and I even have a coupon for Magnum P.I. season 5. On another note, I noticed that season 4 doesn't have scene selection capability.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

I watched the first 2 episodes on season 5 (which I didn't see during the first run) I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, esp after all the bad things I heard about the last season.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

Season 5 seems to be the most "grown up" of the A-Team seasons. Its got over-arching plots, characters, and consequences. I may be in the minority, but I really liked the new direction the show took in its final year. Its a shame that the A-Team didn't go on longer. Some highlights in season 5 are the opening arc and "The Spy Who Mugged Me."

The only episode of 5 that I haven't seen is "The Grey Team" so I can't wait to get my hands on the DVDs and finally check it out!

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

While season 5 pales in comparison to the first few seasons of the series, I really did enjoy the 3-parter that kicked it off. Very few of the subsequent episodes followed through on the potential set up in the season premiere however. One problem was they made Murdock way too serious. Another problem was Mr. T seemed to take a backseat compared to other seasons. And Eddie Velez was unable to bring much to a thinly developed character.

It's still worth a look in my opinion and belongs in any A-Team fan's collection.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

There is a minor mixup on the back cover of disc 2. They have the summary for episodes 5 and 9 reversed.

Re: A-Team Season 5 is single-sided

Mine finally arrived yesterday from Amazon. None of the stores had it in stock, so much for the coupon.
