Doesn't Warner hold "Two Rode Together" also?

I've watched even more documentaries in that time and I'd love to ask one of the directors why they always show clips from the endings.

Dramatic rhythm, I reckon, most endings of movies clips are probably shown in the last third of the documentary. Scenes also tend to have a slightly increased pace in the original films as they wind down, so a scene that goes by faster or has more of a punch and impact (ending climax) would be more desirable to a lot of editors and directors trying not to kill pacing moving back and fourth between different types of material.

It's a Columbia picture, currently available from Sony in R2.

Damn, I was hoping it would be released with 7 Women. I already have the Ford & Wayne box.

Sold

It will also be included in a newly repackaged John Wayne/John Ford Film Collection which we will list shortly when more information is available.

Hopefully the box is a bit slimmer than the previous one. That one was a little too big for my taste.

I have no idea why it needs to be reissued. They should release something new instead.

Ditto; perfect opportunity wasted.

Yeah it would've made a great Two Disc Special Edition.

But I'm sure 7 Women will appear on Warner Archive shortly.

Re: Directed by John Ford See Post #9

That's what I'm afraid of; Warner - hand it to Criterion, and give 'em the perfect excuse to give us the second half of Lindsay Anderson's Beeb documentary as an extra.

Re: Directed by John Ford See Post #9

I hope that the Archive brings out SEVEN WOMEN and FLESH (1932), the latter about a German wrestler played by Wallace Beery. It probably inspired the movie that BARTON FINK was working on.

That would leave my favorite (and perhaps Ford's also): THE FUGITIVE (1947). That merits a syandard release. WB never did a Henry Fonda box. Suggestion: THE FUGITIVE with commentary; a 2-Discer Remaster of MR. ROBETS; THE MALE ANIMAL; WELCOME TO HARD TIMES; THE ROUNDERS or STAGE STRUCK.

If the Archive starts to include John Ford films then we'll know for sure that the writing is well and truly on the wall.

Well at least they're releasing "Directed by John Ford" separately.
