Nice story of the day: Two months after I posted that original message above, I got a PM from a fella who registered at the HTF just to send me the link to that particular commercial which he had found on YouTube!

Thanks to Dick Nichols:

I couldn't even begin to explain what it is about the latest GEICO commercials(with the money clips) that I find so funny. Really, I don't get it.

I don't understand the one in the Chinese restaurant. The woman's expressions and reactions are cryptic.

Has anybody seen the commercial for the 'Refresh' lozenge, where the shy Asian kid gives the lozenge to his roommate's mom?  Pretty funny, I think, although when I did a google search, I saw just as many hits from folks who thought it was 'creepy'.

I have seen it and find it more on the creepy side.

I like the Tony Stewart "School of Endorsements" commercial for Burger King...ESTRADA.....

I like the "Can Geico really save you" ads.  My favorite is the "Can a 10lb. bag of flour make a really big biscuit?" one.

Currently the Boston Bruins NHL team have been running commercials starring "The Bear" - a really tall guy in a moth eaten bear suit that is just a little off.  During last year's playoffs The Bear came upon a Bruins fan with his date, who happened to be wearing a Montreal sweater.  After an evil stare down by The Bear, the Boston fan tried to excuse his blasphemous sin by exclaiming "But she's so pretty!" The bear immediately knocked the beers out of the kid's hands and pulled his sweater up over his head.  It ended with the caption "Never date within the division!"  Funniest commercial ever.  Matter of fact, the whole series of commercials is classic.

I don't know what they are using to do this, but you must see it, even if it is an ad:  http://vimeo.com/9194146

A surgeon buddy of mine had a patient that had "stay off the grass" tattooed right below her belly button. After surgery he wrote a note to the patient "Sorry. I had to mow the lawn!"

I like the new Windows 7 commercial with the French girl sitting outside speaking French, she's hot.
Yeah, she's hot! She belongs in the Brunettes thread.

I'm sorry, but this is endlessly amusing to me.

The parts that get me are the triple wees.  "Wee-wee-WEEEEE!"

Ugh, can't stand that commercial lol. I hate any commercial that features loud high-pitched shrilly sounds.

Oh and any commercial that features people munching on chips of any kind, that crunch sends chills up my spine.

Well, there's an annoying Alka-Seltzer ad where this girl says, "I got into one of the best schools in the country!" and her and her mother have a high-pitched scream.  I hate that, and then the announcer has this annoying, "Plop plop FIZZ FIZZ!"

Old Spice Body Wash.  All of them.  Especially "Double Sun Power!!!"

I like that pig too; it's a cute commercial.

Some of the best 1980s jingles were for chewing gums owned by Wrigley. Now Verizon pays homage to Big Red:

Geico has  the best ones right now with the guy making comparisons. I really like the one about Elmer Fudd or "would a former drill Sargent make a bad psychiatrist?"

I love this one

Geico commercials are some of the best.  I love the drill sargent commercial.  R. Lee Ermey is perfect in that commercial.  For the record I love the "little piggy" commerical too.

This is scarier than anything on The Walking Dead.

GEICO's various ad campaigns have been, for me, hit or miss.

The ad pairing a customer with a celebrity were good with the "voice over guy from the movies" being one of my all time favorites followed closely by the Pips doing back up vocals.  The one with Mrs Butterworth was painful to watch though.

The Caveman campaign ad to me was a miss.  It was silly and why should I think that the ease of buying insurance should be a factor in my decision.  I'm more concerned about what happens after I buy it, which the campaign mentioned above concentrated on.

The money stack with eyes was just plain hard to watch.

Talking gecko is a more traditional approach.  I'm pretty neutral about it. Cute but obvious compariason between the words GEICO and gecko.

The current campaign with the serious guy is fun to watch.  Not sure about how it will make folks think about insurance but  "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee".
