For something different: Commercials you actually like! - Page 7

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

I was just researching that myself, and it looks like they were wrong. In another forum, a guy mentioned how pissed he was that she got married, and the others guys agreed with him. It sounds like he was full of it. Maybe he was thinking of Sarah Lane? The wiki site, the IMDb, nobody mentions it. Sorry about that.

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

I remember once, Morgan wore a ring in one episode. For just one episode, and guys in the G4 Forums (back when I used to read them) were freaking out. It was just an accident, she wasn't married, but still, guys couldn't take it.

I just looked in the G4 forums, and now people are speculating that she is leaving X Play at the end of the month to go to E. They like to start rumors over there all the time.

The bottom line, don't trust anything the G4 forums say about anything. Stick to HTF.

X PLAY is really one of the best written shows on TV. I don't even play video games, but watch it for the dialogue. Hysterical show.

Now, back to commercials.

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

He claims she was "married in secret to a rich guy in his 40s." Even if true, what business is it of ours? The date on his post was back in September, so that's when it supposedly happened. It'd be interesting to know if the ring "incident" was around that time.

Look, I had a bit of a crush on her back when I was watching X-Play regularly, but I'll never meet her and don't expect her to put her life on hold for geeks who have some fantasy about her.

First off, Greg, that pic of Rachel is amazing and second, that Axe shit doesn't work.

I just got back from my trip to Baltimore and Frederick MD and I made sure to buy some before I left, I wore it all day Friday when we were walking around the Inner Harbor (beautiful day that day too, wow) and we even ate lunch at Hooters there...nothing, not one damn wiff.

The stuff does smell good though so i'll keep using it.

But...but...there've been scientific studies...and everything!!!

She said, "It would be a very close call." I wanted to post that segment when it aired, but the website had some kind of javascript protection of their file. Anyway, everybody go out and get some Axe tomorrow.

Where precisely did you apply the Axe, Hammer?

Are you sure you didn't accidentally get the Axe for sick cats?

Mark: Is that sentiment in your signature attributable to anyone in particular? That could be conceived as damn depressing!!

Cees

I applied it under my arms, across my stomach and on my neck, I even applied a tiny bit to the inside of my jacket.

It was a line from Penn & Tellers: B.S. - and I have to completely agree with them.

Rachel Specter:

She's really sucked up all of this thread's oxygen. . . .

So, did anyone else catch her as co-host of G4 "Attack of the Show" last night?

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

I like the insurance company commercial where this teenager is asking his father the key to the car, with the insurance agent hiding behind him and signaling his father to refuse. The delivery of "Can I get the keeyys ta da kaah" always cracks me up.

On a another note, I have recently felt this overwhelming urge to get into my car and take a 300 miles trip to MD. Weird.

I'm playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas right now, so I got a real kick out of the Coke ad that spoofs the GTA games.

Oh yeah, the friendly version of GTA, great commercial. I actually first saw that commercial in the theater when I went to see Talladega Nights, that commercial ended up being more entertaining than the film lol.

I also like all those Cingular "dropped calls" ads where people get cut off and the other person get's all uptight because they interperate it as an awkward silence brought on by saying something inappropriate lol.

Nothing will beat Rachel, though, not for some time to come, I would buy dog shit in a can if she were doing the ads for it.

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

Some of the Cingular ads work better than others. I like the woman who hints about a promotion. It's cute the way she says, "Then maybe you ought to make me a manager, huh? There's a new sheriff in town!" I also like the one with the guy calling the girl he had a successful date with.

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

For some reason I am greatly amused by the Comcast Triple Play commercial where they guy is applying to be the roommate of a Spider-Man freak. His little dog is cute in costume, but I just like the way he says, "I webbed you. That means you got the apartment!"

Rachel Specter: the RGX body spray model.

Just saw this version of the RGX campaign air a few minutes ago and thought I'd share.

I've seen that one many times, I have all of the commercials saved as favorites at Youtube.

That girl drives me up a freakin' wall!

I was worried it might have been around awhile. Today was the first day I'd seen it broadcast...so I went and looked it up.

Oh well. Seeing it again was probably better than a sharp stick in the eye, eh?

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

Heh, if I could find a way to have those commercials beamed directly into my brain all day long I would.

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

Have you all noticed that Rachel Specter is in another ad campaign too? For the Sunsilk "Get Hairapy" hair care ads as well. So, she is popular with both sexes.

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

I don't like her look in that last one. It is too 'Maxim' naughty instead of 'Come be naughty with the girl nextdoor' look of her first couple spots.

Re: For something different: Commercials you actually like!

I don't care if she's Maxim naughty or girl next door naughty she's still in the naughty family, in the neighborhood of naughty, in the vacinity of naughtiness.

Is she in one of those "blondes vs. brunettes" ads? If so, game over, winner declared.

I've got a sick mind, but that is giving me some dirty thoughts.

Other than the hot girls, I hate the Hairapy ads. I can't say why, though, because I imagine it isn't a politically correct reason.

To even think for a second about Rachel and another woman is enough to make my head explode Scanners-style.
