Leave it to beaver season 3? - Page 30

I was charged $108.05 by B&N including Tax and Shipping. (I used the differance to get some DVDs from DeeDee's!)

B&N is $108.55 for me.

Still, awesome deals from both.  If DD could do a $89.99 thing like they did with Dick Van Dyke (and I love Lucy, which I missed) I'd certainly go with them.  In fact, they can give me Lucy and the Beav for that and I"ll cancel B&N right now!!

You guys are likely going through the Access B&N site, or the Library site, both of which give additional discounts.  And I'm guessing both of you are lucky enough to live in a state that B&N does NOT charge sales tax for.  Unfortunately, because I live in Florida, I get the sales tax addition to my order.  But yeah, that's a phenomenal price!

Gary "anything under $125 for this set is a steal as far as I'm concerned" O.

Gary, I think you're too conservative.  Anything under $175 is one hell of a great price to me for this show...well, many would say $500 wouldn't be asking too much to finally get it!   Heh heh! But in this market, we're all getting awesome deals on this classic show that looked as if it was stalled indefinitely.

Although I was going to wait on a sub-$100, whenever that would be...not now.  $108 is just fine as wine!

The B&N price minus tax (I'm in Texas) was about the same.  I got hit with a regional/state tax.

You did Good Jeff!!!! I am in the process of trying to cancel my order with "Family Video," but I don't know if it is worth it or not- to do this... Oh well, at least I know that I have ordered a 'Good Quality Product' no matter where I purchased it from, and that makes everything 'Okay' in my book!!!!! :-)

Greg,

Thanks :).  I also was about to order from Family Video but they had the sales tax in Texas as well since they're based here.  I was surprised at B&N's tax but I don't know where they're based, perhaps in Texas as well?

You're right about the release, either way, it's a real gem in anyone's collection.

As far as Deep Discount, that's the best price I've seen but it's close enough to B&N's price where I'm happy with the B&N deal.

I guess that depends on one's individual TV/DVD budget.  I'd have agreed a few years ago but I''ve had to adjust my DVD budget during the past 2 years.

I agree with you about the release.  The only question I had was to see if I could get this set below ~$125.00 price.  Thanks to the B&N poster here, I was able to do that, and now there's a lower price at DD for those that hadn't decided on this purchase.

Hmm... My B&N total came to $105.74, and I live about a quarter mile from a B&M store. The tax seems low to me ($4.29), but I didn't do anything special. I just used the link provided up-post to get it for $101.45. So, who knows how they compute these things? Free express (1-3 business days) shipping too. What's not to like?

Yeah, I forgot about the free fast shipping.  That was a surprise.  I'd be happy if shipping took a month for this price.  :D

Hi guys. Hope you don't get mad at me but think you better cancel those Leave it to Beaver orders. Found a even better deal through B&N. They have a father's day coupon that takes 50% off the list price. If you use the link I provided it should take an additional 10% off. I just placed a new order for around $85 before sales tax. The coupon only works on a few eligible DVDs but Leave it to Beaver is one of them on the list. Since my earlier order was not available yet I was easily able to cancel it after placing a new order for the cheaper price.

Use coupon code B8R4A7B expires Sunday evening 6/13

I tried using it but for me the savings was less than $2.00. Oh Well!

I was able to lower my order from about $101 to $85 for the complete series. Did you try using the link to save the extra 10% off the price. If you order through B&N.com it will be about the same as the earlier deal. The coupon makes the set about $100. The 10% link saves an extra $15 off that price.

Brian:  You need to be a B&N member to get that price, right?

$91.85, That's more like it!

Thanks for the tip! Now, what will I do with the $17.00 I Saved?

No membership needed for the price. In fact B&N members no longer get 10% off their orders online.

This ain't working for me.  I know I'm not doing the steps right.  :(  If someone has a minute or 2, can they type out the steps on how a dummy can get this done?

Thanks.  :)

Thanks, Brian.

That's an amazing price for six seasons (39 episodes each!) of one of the all-time great family TV programs.  That comes out to about $15/season (or...40 cents

per episode!  ).

James:  Just click on Brian's 2nd link...and then add the coupon code.

Mike, I really am a dummy.  I was pasting my B&N password in there.

Everyone gets to thump me on the head with a knuckle.

Other order canceled.  My new total is $91.74 down from $108.55.  This may be my favorite deal ever.

Thanks Brian.

Next, I'm expecting a coupon to get this free.

*waits*

Brian,

Thanks for the info!

Guys, have you all had any problem cancelling your original online B&N orders?  That won't create an issue when placing the order again using the 10% link and the coupon code, right?

It didn't for me Jeff.  Everything looked good.  I got an order notice for the new one and a cancellation notice for the old.

I was a bit worried something would come up later.  B&N might not want to sell these this low.  Hopefully there would still be time to reorder at $108 if that happened.  But...you won't know if you don't try.

It shouldn't as long as your order has not entered the shipping phase, which should not be a problems since it has not been released. Anyway it's two different orders and order numbers. They should not conflict with each other. I actually canceled my first order after placing the second one. Wanted to confirm it went through before canceling the other.

James, Brian, thanks again!.  I have my page set up on the 'net but didn't click the buttons until checking here.  Time to click :)

I order a lot from B&N and never had them cancel saying I got too good a deal. It should go through. You should see some of the deals you can get when they have a Criterion sale. If you had a membership you were able to get $40 list titles for $13 at stores with coupons.

Ok, I guess I'm blind :).  I tried to use the coupon code but I didn't see a place to enter the code at the checkout screens.  I haven't placed the order yet but my cart price this time around is higher than my existing order.  This price is $138.82 incl tax.

My existing order is $113.99 .

Also, when I tried to use the 10% link, I'm not seeing the LITB product page appear.  The link takes me to the B&N store page. ?  Do you search for the LITB set at this page?  When I do that, it's giving me the $138.82 price at checkout.

[edit]  I think I got this thing figured out now *duh* :)  I see the coupon option.  I was looking for a blank area to enter the code and hadn't expected to click on the small underlined field for the place to enter the code.  Now my pre-tax price is $92.81 ..   Still going thru the checkout screens....

[edit #2]  It worked :) but now my previous order isn't showing up in my acct.  Strange....

The new order price total is $92.81 incl tax.  I just need to verify my previous order status.

I'm guessing that the B&N online store automatically cancelled my previous order since it was for the same product?  I tried logging out, back in, the usual things, still shows only my order today.

Got mine in for $90.89. I don't think I've ever ordered->cancelled->ordered again->cancelled->order again so many times ever in my life.

I checked my Order History again and it's only showing my latest order, not the original order so I guess I was able to avoid the cancel routine.

The B&N links we were given to save 11% (gsa) or 10% (library) didn't last very long, apparently.  I don't see LITB in either place.

GSA is now for government orders only. I wouldn't bother using that link since it may result in having your order canceled unless you prove it is for a government purposes. I just searched "Leave it to Beaver Complete series" at the library link and it popped right up on my search. I would post a direct link but it could potentially cause the link not to work properly for the 10% discount. It's usually better to go through the basic home page link to start.

Wow! What a deal! $89.36 shipped! Thanks, Brian!

Now I'm off to cancel my earlier order...
