Gods and Monsters, which version?

Hey all, I tried the search to no avail.
I wanted to snag a copy of this but I noticed at Amazon there was a "Collector's edition" from 98' and then a newer release from 2003. Are they the same?

It appears the 1998 Collector's Edition has more extras compared to the 2003 Lion's Gate version. Oh, and a different cover to boot. Looked on dvdcompare.net and they only had the listing for the Universal one.
I'd say go for the Collector's Edition if you enjoy extras (I know I do). And I saw the trailer for this when I watched Shadow of the Vampire a few years ago.

Both have the same transfer, the earlier edition has a great documentary about Whale by David Skal.
