Re: Weekly RoundUp 6-6-2006

"John Wayne/John Ford Collection: The Searchers: 50th Anniversary Edition, Stagecoach SE, Fort Apache, The Long Voyage Home, Wings of Eagles, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, They Were Expendable, 3 Godfathers."

Everything I've seen (Amazon, the HTF software forum) shows the Ultimate Edition of The Searchers included in this set, not the 50th Anniversary. Has that changed?

Can somebody who has this set already clarify?

Re: Weekly RoundUp 6-6-2006

Wow. Another week of sitting on the sidelines.

I'll probably blind buy the HD of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang when it comes out (providing they put it out on HD) next week and then Syriana the week after that.

As always, thanks for the updates, guys. Sunday morning ritual: Check out the sales thread here and then Meet the Press.

Nope! Just conflicting info that made it into the RoundUp in error. Here's what amazon.com says:

Quote:
John Wayne-John Ford Film Collection (The Searchers Ultimate Edition / Stagecoach Two-Disc Special Edition / Fort Apache / The Long Voyage Home / The Wings of Eagles / She Wore a Yellow Ribbon / They Were Expendable / 3 Godfathers) (2006)

D'oh!

And for the past month or so I've been thinking "how clever" that they decided to release the new version of The Omen in theaters on Tuesay!

Thanks, Scott!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 6-6-2006

I snatched up Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition for $17.99. Heck of a deal for a 4-disc set that is regularly priced at $32.99.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 6-6-2006

Big week, I'll be picking up:

Dazed And Confused
Entourage: Season Two
House Of Strangers
I Wake Up Screaming
and maybe Dumbo (depending on what I hear about it)

Thanks as always!

Maybe it will show up at the local BJ's Wholesale Club at a decent price (though I find their selection rather lacking lately).
Tell me about it. My club used to have 3 to 4 aisles of DVD's. Now they barely have 1 1/2. They've cut back a LOT...especially on catalog titles and box sets.

Probably just Underworld: Evolution for me this week.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 6-6-2006

I'll be picking up:

Underworld: Evolution
Mr. & Mrs. Smith SE
NCIS S1

I ended up ordering from Amazon which brought it in more than a buck cheaper than the stores this week (after taxes) and that's even with 2 day shipping! The best part is not wasting the gas on a special trip, which adds to my savings even more.

For the record, this actually worked. All of the X-Files sets were priced at $41.99, including anything they had in the older style packaging. So I managed to get sets 8 and 9 for a total of $73. A far cry from the $99 I paid for season 1 many years ago.

I did not see that one coming, but it looks like I'll have a chance to celebrate 6/6/06 appropriately with that deal.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 6-6-2006

If anyone goes to Target this morning if you see a Sale Price on Underworld for the PSP can you let me know. I have to pick up one for a friend and I want to know if they have it before I pay full price at Best Buy.

Thanks

Re: Weekly RoundUp 6-6-2006

Anyone had trouble finding the Dawn of the Dead set at CC? I think this is the first time I've ever gone to my local store and not found something from the flyer (on a MONDAY, no less!).

If you have access to Costco, they have it for $48.49.

EDIT: I just noticed that Tim JS has already posted this info. That's what I get for not reading the whole thread.
