I hadn't watched RIVER OF NO RETURN in quite a while, but the above screen captures forced me to pull out the DVD and watch it today. I had it in my mind that the transfer was somewhat grainy and dim, but I was wrong. It looked very nice.

The screencaps from the ld look vertically stretched, the dvd more natural. I wonder if this can account for some of the cropping?

I agree, I think it is very good. If there are cropping issues I think they are minor, and maybe done deliberately to exclude a damaged portion of the element they used?

Anyway, during the log cabin scene, keep a very close eye on Mitchum's gun holster next to the door... Preminger provides you with all the information you need, but whether you concentrate enough to notice the change is a different matter.

I'm guessing there would be since Fox issued subsequent editions of the Shirley Temple sets -- hopefully so, as I'd like to have Bus Stop as well. Either way this new set is a good price and I like the fact that they've redesigned the packaging to include the original poster art. The set also includes a bonus disc of "Marilyn: the Final Days"

I was just wondering if anyone of you has already received his copy of the anniversary collection.
Could you please confirm if the covers use the original poster art? Do the DVDs contain lobby cards?

I sw them on shelf the other day (the individual titles) and not the box set.

But I can confirm the original poster art.


Unfortunately marred by bilingual covers in Canada...

Saw some of them @ COSTCO, and the covers are the ORIGINAL POSTER ART. Saw "BLONDES", "SEVEN", "NIAGRA" !!!!!!!!

Just received mine in the mail and though there are no lobby cards, each DVD includes a foldout insert with liner notes about the film, chapter list, etc.

I just picked up this set at Costco for $22.99.

But when I opened it up, I found that four of the DVDs did not have the foldout inserts. Have they stopped making these, or should I contact Fox to see if I can get them?
