Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Well, their mascots on the website certainly shouldn't lose sales. Were there burgers there somewhere, maybe next to the hot blonde nurse?

The "Nurses" really dress like that there. I have to go.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Clever ad, but this place clearly knows nothing about burgers.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

without the blonde nurse and references to heart surgery, it's just an obscenely sized burger.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Kind of off topic, but the best burger in the world has got to be in the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan. Their restaurant called "The Bull and the Bear" has a $18 burger that might be the most delicious thing I have ever eaten, burger or not. Don't get me wrong, I am not just saying that because its expensive because I have had a $22 burger at The Beverly Hills Hotel that sucked big time. This Waldorf burger was just magical. I am a huge burger aficionado (who else would order a burger in fancy steakhouse) and I swear if anyone has the chance to try it, go for it! You won't regret it.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

I was reading a story yesterday about this monstrous burger/hot dog concoction. Disgusting.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

I highly doubt their burgers and fries are as better than those from my local Five Guys Burgers & Fries.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

About 8 years ago, I had a very good hamburger at a place called "Paul's Palace" on the lower east side of Manhattan. Haven't had a better since.

Anyone ever heard of a place called Back Yard Burgers? One's opening around here soon and I'd like to know what to expect.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

In-N-Out has gotten too "chainy" though. Last time I was in LA I ate at a couple suburban ones that weren't very good. I've never liked their fries either. But I'd still swear by the ones I've eaten at in Hollywood and LA proper.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Another vote for 5 Guys. Can't say they are the "best" since I've never eaten at most of the places mentioned above, but if you ever pass a 5 Guys.... Stop in !!!!

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Kua Aina in Hawaii. Best burger I ever had. They spray vermouth on the meat as it cooks.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Gotta go with What-A-Burger. A double what-a-burger with cheese, toasted buns, and jalepenos. It's the only reason I miss Texas.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Fatburger, Whataburger, In-and-out...they're all about the same. And better than the other fast food alternatives. I don't have In-and-Out near me, but I'm going to hit the one in Las Vegas near the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV in about 3 weeks.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

As to the ‘Whataburger’ type places, as far as I’m concerned, any place that can’t make a burger medium-rare (and of course it is pretty hard to impossible with a thin patty) is a waste of fat grams.

A great burger should contain a single, thick patty, made from good ground beef (preferable something like chuck). Of course preferences vary, but even those who like their beef medium-well (or shudder even well-done) ought to appreciate that a great burger place could prepare one to your preference.

Very good burgers, but not as good as 5 Guys. You should definitely try them out when they open though. I prefer them to most other fast food type burgers.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Best burger I ever ate was at a place called Port of Call in New Orleans. Little more than a dive bar, but I'll never forget the ground beef.

Thankfully it survived Katrina intact.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

And yet another vote for "Five Guys". It is good to know that I am about 5 miles away from three of their locations. For those that don't know them, this a no frills place. They have a simple menu, only two sizes for burgers, they post where their potatos come from, and they have a sack of unshelled peanuts to nosh on while your order is being prepared. Is it the "best" burger? Maybe not, but I like going there and am never disappointed.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

After hearing all about in'n'out when I was back in NYC, we finally tried one when we moved to Cali. with all due respect, best burger? C'mon...!
Try some diners in NYC.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

This will sound pretentious as hell, but I think the best burgers I ever ate are the ones I've been making at home lately. Use 95% lean organic ground beef, good cheese, whole wheat buns, whatever other toppings I want (sauteed mushrooms are pretty top.) The reason they are the 'best' is they are totally delicious and I can eat them as often as desired without alot of 'ill' effects. A healthy burger that tastes great, it doesn't seem like it should be so.

I am intrigues by the idea of the Waldolf Astoria burger posted above. If I'm ever in NY I'll need to give that a try.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Joe, that sounds pretty damn good!

BBQ sauce!!! Sauteed onions! Jack Cheese!

I might run it by the gf tonite to see if she's game.

Five Guys! Lots of good burger places...depends on mood. But 5 Guys is the bomb.

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Westport Flea Market, in Kansas City, has the best burger I've had in a long time. Premium hamburger from local meat store, great taste. Yum.
