I'm surprised no one has posted this yet:

Veronica Mars - Go Back To Mars This Summer With The 2nd Season Set!

Apparently it's being released August 15th! Now I'll just keep my fingers crossed for a third season.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

Yup, season 3 is coming. This was taken from an email a retailer sent us:

"Release timing tied to Season Three premiere on the CW."

So there you go

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

Do they know, though? I'm used to video game retailers who give a date for something that has no date given by the developers. On the positive side, Kristen Bell said that she is in no way worried about a third season. She thinks it's going to happen, and she is contracted for a total of five seasons.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

I can't wait for this! Veronica Mars is one of my favorite shows. I am really excited that Season 2 will actually have a nice selection of extras! Especially with what happen Extras wise for season 1.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

Good news! From what I have seen of this show (not much) it seems really good & I hope to blind buy Season 1 soon.(I have been puttting it off for a while now so it's time!) Can't wait to get into this show...

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

Don't count your chickens just yet, everybody. The CW line-up for 2006-07 won't be announced until May 18th. I'd dearly love to see Veronica Mars back for season 3 - I think it's one of the best shows on TV right now - but the ratings have been slipping recently, and there's no guarantee that it'll be renewed.

I'm not surprised, since the last three episodes have been pre-empted by basketball in major markets.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

Being in Canada, and not having UPN (it's a premium channel here), now I don't have to wait until CTV decides to air this, so I can watch this season on DVD for the first time.

Fantastic!

I've tried to pretend that Veronica Mars didn't exist because of that.

Seeing the extraordinary season 1, and knowing I couldn't watch season 2...hell.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

Woo hoo!

I am so glad that they plan to get the S2 DVD into stores before the S3 premiere (and I am confident there will be an S3 premiere, because I can't let myself think otherwise).

I know several people have told me that they really loved S1 and wanted to watch S2 but got into the show too late and didn't want to start watching S2 midstream.

I am in the same boat as Nicholas.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

I'm all over this the day it's released! I just watched the entire first season last week for the very first time and I just couldn't believe how much I loved this wonderful show! I've got lost time to make up...

Honestly, DVD is the way to watch it. As much as I love Veronica Mars, I wish I would've been able to wait for DVD to watch Season 2. The show is so complex and just does not benefit from the numerous interruptions that occur when aired on UPN. There was a point where there was somewhere between 5-6 weeks between new episodes. I would've loved to watch the whole season over the course of a couple of weeks.

God, Kristen looks *great* on that cover.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

Heh. They really should find a way to put a bus on this cover.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

LOL... You Know you are right... they should have the bus on there this season... we got our way in season 1 not to have the bus on the front cover... any way we could fight to get it on the cover for season 2?

You can pick up Season 1 at Target for $22.99 right now. I went there yesterday and picked up a set for John W since they were all sold out in his area and I'm going back there today to pick up another set for a friend of his. That is such an unbelieveable deal! Sale ends on Saturday.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

Can't wait to pick it up! Season 3 is also a go - 22 eps on order, but it can be taken down to 13 if it fares poorly and the network wants to pull it.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

New Press Release from Warner Bros. about the VM S2 DVD, which goes on sale August 22.

Quote:
Veronica Mars: The Complete Second Season includes entertainment for both new and loyal fans with revealing special features including "A Day in the Life of Kristen Bell" featurette and over 20 minutes of deleted scenes.

I really hope they have more extras than that. No commentaries? And they are still listing the old episode titles for 2.20 and 2.21.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

I tell you, I want to read that press release, but i'm terrified to do so because of spoilers, just glancing at it made my hair stand on end.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

John: That press release doesn't give away anything of any significance. In fact, it doesn't even reveal what the main S2 mystery is and just gives a very vague description of what is going on. Nothing that would spoil anything for new viewers imho.

The only thing "spoilery" is the episode titles, and the titles don't give away much in the way of plot either. (And two of the titles were later changed, but they are still listing the old titles.)

Okay, thanks, my radar is always up for spoilers which is why i'm so paranoid.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

Speaking of cover art on the front and the back. And I know this may be off topic but I thought it was rather interesting.

Has anyone noticed that on the back cover art for the first season set, the cast gives their pose but behind them there’s the picture of a school bus that’s been added in? I thought it was a cute coincidence seeing as how in season 2 there’s a major part with a school bus.

Now looking at the back cover art for the second season, anyone think that background may have to do with the new season?

Yeah, I know, I have too much time on my hands. But that’s a cute coincidence.

Re: Veronica Mars season 2

I picked up Season 2 of Veronica Mars last tuesday. I have watched the show since the first day it aired and I love it and I wanted to rewatch Season 1 and 2 before Season 3 started. I noticed that this show definitely has a high rewatchability to it.

One thing about the Season 2 DVDs v. the Season 1 DVDs, there is no "Previously On Veronica Mars" at the start of the episodes like there was on Season 1. I sort of wish they would of kept that. Especially since Season 2 was a little bit more confusing than Season 1 was, there were a few more balls in the air for Season 2.
