Report all forum software problems. Part I - Page 25

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

I concur. New posts are taking "forever" tonight...but I don't see any difference between threads with many posts and threads with few posts.

Yeah, it seems to be the larger threads.

I dunno, Parker. I've just made a few posts in this week's new Weekly RoundUp thread over in "Bargains & Deals" (there's only a half-dozen posts and maybe a few dozen views) and the posts were taking quite a long time to go through to a page refresh.

EDIT** In fact, they took just about as long to post as this post did in this much longer thread. BTW, post EDITS seem to fly right through, FWIW.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

i've been waiting for a post to go through on the round up for well over 2 minutes right now.

edit:
I waited 8 minutes for this post to post then finally just hit reload and then the post appeared.
the edit went right through.

Hmmmm......Very Interesting. It doesn't make that much sense.

I have not posted today, but the pages load fast, if your not posting.

Yep, just like Tony says. If you hit the refresh button your golden. Otherwise, go to the bathroom, get a drink, and something to eat.

You did post today Ricky boy, that post is proof of that, innit?

There's still a slight pause before the post gets thru, it looks like it's stalled but if you open the forum on another tab you can see that your reply did get thru, any of that make any sense?

I am trying to figure it out too.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

I had a pop-up appear today as I tried to load a page linked via an email that notified me that a new post was up on a thread I subscribed to. My main browser is Safari v3.0.4. (I do use Firefox and I tested it just now and it's loading the HTF slowly too.)

Here's what it said:

SLOW SCRIPT

A script on the page "A Blu-ray player [Sony BDP-S550] that will do EVERYTHING! (Verified) - Page 6 - Home Theater Forum" (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...ml#post3457711) is making Safari unresponsive. Do you want to continue running the script, or stop it?

I clicked okay to run it and the same pop-up appeared again and I again clicked okay and it finished loading the page.

I am running Mac OS X 10.4.11 on a Powerbook and a G5 and I've noticed the last couple of days the forum is slow in loading.

Yup. Page loads themselves are quite slow this afternoon...

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

I have actually had Firefox give me a few "Network Timeout" pages this afternoon--telling me the HTF's servers are not responding.

EDIT** VERY frustrating!

I have a problem. I am Mac and I was playing around with the different appearance "skins" that you can choose at the bottom of the page. I got to the last one, which had a name I now forgot, and it is this difficult to read Blue-Orange format. And now the box for choosing skins has disappeared or I can't find it! How do I get back to the original skin?
Thanks...
