To me (but no Firefox user) that pic is just 25x25 too! You must have intended to refer to another one.
If you go to the offending page, and then hit REFRESH, is it still wrong?

Maybe clearing your cache would help.

See that's the problem. Half the time the light bulb shows up which is fine but the other half what I get is a 10x450 pixel column of gradient blue. Here's the bad boy in question:

I'm on Firefox 2.0.0.3 on XP as well and no issues for me. It definitely sound more of a local issue on your end....kinda like the guy who had my avatar being replaced as his reply button.

It almost sounds like a buggy caching issue. Have you tried clearing your cache as Mike suggested?

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

I don't know if it's a temporary problem, but embedded YouTube files don't seem to be working right now. When I click on them, I get a "failed." I wonder if YouTube has disabled remote play for their videos.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

I haven't browsed the forum a lot lately and did not realize that I am not getting e-mail notifications (again). I have several threads with Daily notification this month but received none of them and they did not end up in my Spam folder.

I had reported a similar problem when I had a Verizon account and Mike Frezon and Cees will remember the long thread we kept posting to in the Testing forum ("Can you see me now? Can you see me now?").

When I change the e-mail account to a Yahoo! account, it worked. Now it does not, but I do not know when it started.

Has Yahoo! been blocked, too, somehow?

Hey, Keith!

Sorry to hear the problem's back.

Do ya suppose the string which connects the two tin cans has been broken somewhere under the Pacific Ocean?

I appear to have "Unread 65529, Total 321 " in my message box and all my PMs are empty - I know people suffered this before, what's the solution?

Did we just have a little short-circuit on the HTF life support machine?!

Happy e-mails, Keith!

Hey, Keith! Look!

Maybe THIS helped! It looks like the Verizon guy was actually in Hawaii recently!

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

i think the entire HTF was on vacation in hawaii last night.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

Not to make light of it in any way since it is a serious matter, but if the Verizon guy (and HTF) was on vacation here, he (and HTF) was getting ready for Hurricane Flossie instead.

But yeah, it's good to be back! "I CAN HEAR (SEE/READ) YOU NOW!"

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

Has there been a change in the last week to the forum software?

I am using Safari 2.0.4 on a Mac OS 10.4.8 and I am experiencing pages that are not fully loading. Reading pages has been fine, but when I use the back button, the browser sends me back to a page I was viewing before the HTF and not to the page on the HTF I was reading before it.

For example, I can go to the software section and look at TV shows on DVD, then go to the software section and look at movies and TV movies. But if I hit the back button, it does not go back to the TV shows n DVD section of the HTF. It will jump back to a page I was viewing before the HTF.

I checked this with Firefox and it works fine. So I figure there is something that changed that Safari does not like!

Thanks!

Nothing has changed on our end that would cause that to happen. As Netscape, Opera, Firefox and IE all work fine for me on my PC I can only guess it is a Safari issue. The problem that I have too is that I have no way of checking this out.

Iphone has changed as I am using a script that will display HTF using WAP so it is going to remove all the grahics, etc.

Nelson:

Did you just upgrade Safari?

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

Hi Ron-

No changes on my side, I am using Safari 2.0.4 for at least a year. I noticed this problem occur in the last week and it happens on my Powerbook too. So it's definitly a Safari issue as I said Firefox works okay.

However, I did note that the back button sometimes works okay on this page, but does not work on the HT software page for TV shows or the HT software section for Films and the HD Software.

Another anomoly is that the page refresh button on the top bar of Safari never shows the refresh page arrow, only the X that means it's not done loading the page.

Thanks!

I've never used Safari...so I'm probably sticking my neck out where it doesn't belong; but it sounds like the HTF pages in question, Nelson, simply aren't fully loading in Safari...so that when you hit Safari's "back" button it is sending you "back" to the last page which was fully loaded for you.

Maybe there's something on the pages in the TV Software section that Safari just doesn't like.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

Yep, Mike. That's what I am experiencing. The page appears loaded and the indicator that the page is loading is done, but the refresh button doesn't agree.

Other none HTF pages are working fine for me.

Tony-

Sounds like this issue is not confined to Motorola based Macs as you're on an Intel Macbook.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

I have the same problem on my G4 TiBook 800 laptop MAC running Safari 2.0.4. Have been running this version of Safari for a LONG time and had no problems viewing the forum. Only recently in the last couple weeks has this back button thing happened. It takes me clearly out of HTF and back to wherever I was before the HTf forum. It will happen even if I have clicked 2 or three pages into the HTF too. Not just on the first page I am seeing. It is real annoying as the only way I can navagaste the forum is to use the drop down menus and click "forwad" into any new pages. If I want to go back...I am taken out of the HTF to whatever page I was viewing before.

I have done no software updates recently on my MAC. It just started happening one day.

And...It only seems to happen on the HTF and not any other forums I visit.

I have also noticed that when the page loads, it will load 72 out of 73 items....or 52 out fo 53 items....and then stall for a while. Then the status bar clears like it loaded everything, but the page loading indicator on the safari tab is still spinning in a circle and the refresh button is still an "X". As has been mentioned above...so...something between Safari and the forum software or server is not communicating properly. And given that this same version of Safari has been running here fine for months, not experiencing this behavior and my computer has not been updated at all...I am starting to think it is on the HTF server side of things.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

Same problem, Safari 3.0.3, Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz.

Odd thing is that it didn't used to do this. I thought initially it was the beta version of Safari that I upgraded to, but it seems like others are having the problem with older versions of Safari. I know for a fact it didn't happen with Safari 2 and 3.0.1. I upgraded to .2 and then .3 in fairly quick succession so I don't know when the problem crept up...

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

The is really odd that Safari is the only browser doing this and it is only on HTF.

I really don't know what could be doing this. If there is a particular thing that you notice that isn't loading let me know.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

IE is doing it too.

IMO it's one of the advertisers, most probably pagead2.googlesyndication.

Symptom: the page is loading alright (but not finished), then some seconds pass, then you hear a second "click" and that's when the loading is "done".

Two weeks ago it was so slow that I turned off the fishing filter to speed the whole loading process up a bit. I just turned it on again and it's faster now, but there still is a period after the page *looks* like fully loaded and the moment (after the second click) you can start doing something with it.

The double clicks whenever you go to a new page on HTF are typical (and a bit irritating).

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!

Add me to the list of Safari users who's been having this problem the past couple of weeks, both on the computer at work and the laptop at home. It's really irritating, and I'm sorry to hear that installing the 3.03 Beta doesn't fix it....
