It's the sheer amount of commercials that bother me. I have dvr and record and skip commercials when ever possible.

There's a rental car commercial that's just killing me right now. A guy walks up to the counter, opens his mouth and some radio like noise comes out saying something like "I wanna rock." I think it's Hertz. I actually change the channel whenever it comes on.

I grew up in the 80's, but I still agree with Bobby.

I hate those Hillshire Farms Entree Salads commercials. The first one with the weird Asian girl, then the new one set in the office. They're both irritating (as is the product, since you basically have to buy the salad separately...they just provide toppings).

Hehe... I just needed a laugh.

I hate the credit card commercials... They just annoy me. I don't care much for credit cards, I'll only get one for major emergencies. Everything else will be paid with cash or a debit card, keep my credit intact.

Has anyone seen the ads for an online poker site, with all sorts of odd characters sitting around a table? A witch, a vampire, a magician, and then at the end someone says "I hope we don't get any bloody weirdos around here".

It is one of the worst ads on TV. Production wise, it feels like it was filmed in someone's garage. The acting is terrible. It doesn't make sense.

Yet, I LOVE IT! I am just so fascinated by how bad it is.

I only seem to see it on local ad breaks on THE CW. So, I don't know how widespread it is.

I got so Pee-Od at the Declining Quality of todays TV Shows along with the ever-growing number of Commercials that I DROPPED my Cable TV Service this past January! Why should I pay $60 a Month to endure 20 minutes of Commercials each hour when I can use the same Amount of money to buy 60 - 100 Hours of TV Shows on DVD each Month and be able to ENJOY an evening of TV without having my finger on the "Mute" Switch. The Networks have decided to make more money by selling more Commercials, which means the quality of our shows goes down the Crapper! Therefore I have decided they do not need my Money, and I now seek my entertainment and Information elsewhere!

Pretty much every one of them. Whenever I see the Hardee's commercial and the fat wallet guy for Subway, I immediately turn the channel. I cannot think of a single product I have been persuaded to purchase based on the commercials.

Do radio commercials count? Axe "Stinky Poetry". Hate all of them. Always change the station.

Two commercials with the two most irritating songs in the world (and which air in pretty much every commercial break on The Discovery Channel) - the Mac "Air" ads (learn how to use the definite article, b**** ) and the current Volvo ads. Actually lots of ads that use snippets of bad music with lyrics that can never be figured out in the running time of the ad and which have little or nothing to do with the product advertised. I go to great lengths to avoid this crap on the radio only to be forced to listen to it in commercials (and, increasingly, as part of the soundtrack of series.)

Any of the various weight loss/male enhancement/etc commercials. You know, the ones that always have the disclaimer at the bottom that says "This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease." Can't believe people fall for this crap. Like rubbing wax on my forehead will relieve a headache.

I wish the FTC would crack down on these people.

That disclaimer is there precisely to prevent the FTC from cracking down on those people. Most of these ads are very carefully scripted so that they don't actually come out and say that they will cure your headache, make your erection last longer or make your schlong bigger. Nowhere in that obnoxious "Head-On" commercial does anyone come out and say, "This stuff cures headaches". And because they don't say that - because they don't make any claims at all, only imply things, they neatly side-step the language in various statutes and regulations that would let the authorities shut them down. Sure, the feds could try to tighten the regulations up, but it is hard to write a rule or law so stringent that it admits no exceptions and leaves no loopholes at all. And when you do, you generally find it creates nearly as many problems as it solves. (See all the nitwit "zero tolerance" policies that routinely get six year olds suspended or expelled from school for drawing pictures of guns, for instance.)

One more for me (see what you guys started?) The ads for the drug AciPhex. The ads themselves don't bother me. They're so dull that they barely register, I almost never look up from my laptop or the book I'm usually reading during commercials to even see the things. I just barely hear the audio.

What bothers me about the ads - or maybe the product - is that this pill made it all the way through the product development cycle, patenting, marketing, advertising, production and finally airing of the commercials and nobody apparently noticed that the product name sounds like they're saying "Ass Effects".

How is that even possible? The damned commercials sound like a Saturday Night Live parody of a hemorrhoid cream advert.
