I'll second Star 80; it was on inHD and looked fine.

I also want a Blu-Ray of All that Jazz without the messed-up colors that make the actors look like smurfs, and an uncut remaster of Sweet Charity.

Add my name to the list. But make it available in Blu-ray with a decent sounding 5.1 audio track.

Yup, Warners badly needs to give this film the proper re-vamp SE it deserves. I can't believe multiple Oscar winning classics like this get all but ignored when some other movies barely worth releasing in the first place get all the bells and whistles dvd technology can throw at them!
Come on Warners, pull your damn fingers out and get the job done properly!

Not new; just repackaged with a fancy schmancy slipcover. The current DVD is a dark, dirty mess.

Re: How about an anamorphic SE of Cabaret?

It's coming out on Blu-Ray this November in the UK. Interesting....

Amazon.co.uk: Cabaret [Blu-ray] [1972]: Liza Minnelli, Joel Grey, Michael York, Helmut Griem, Marisa Berenson, Fritz Wepper, Bob Fosse: DVD

The only disc I've ever imported happened to be from amazon.com.uk. It was the UK BD of Sweeney Todd. I've had it for awhile. Awesome transaction. Awesome disc. It came in a steelbook even.

It will be interesting to see if there is a concurrent US release of Cabaret on BD.

Fremantle is a pretty large company (FremantleMedia) but it is not connected with Warner Bros as far as I know - I assume that they have simply picked up UK distribution rights. Let's hope that CABARET will also get a new transfer in SD for those of us, which I think is still most of us, who have not made the 'transition' to HD home video yet.

Re: How about an anamorphic SE of Cabaret?

Probably has something to do with the rights being split since Cabaret was an Allied Artists/ABC Films co-production.

I won't buy another SD DVD release of this title.

Does warner have plans to release a Cabaret SE?

Obviously, the UK Blu-Ray did not come out last November.  It's had a couple of release dates since then, none of which has been kept.  Probably never coming out.

I imagine Warner holds the film elements and they probably are waiting to restore them. But when, until the "now or never" point where they can brag about valiantly having saved the film from the brink of extinction? That's what Fox had to do with All That Jazz.
