Sorry, I didn't write down all the deals, but maybe DVD Talk will have complete details soon. Sale ends January 22.

Here's what I picked up:

Simpsons Season 6: 31.99 less $15 instant savings = $16.99

Simpsons Season 7: 31.99 less $15 instant savings = $16.99

King Kong Production Diaries: 26.69 less $7 instant savings = $19.69

Office Space SE: 12.99 less $5 instants savings = $8.99

24 Season Four also had the $15 discount, also priced at $31.99.

Wow, that's a great price on Simpsons. And to think I nearly ordered Season 7 from Amazon last night because I got a free trial to Amazon Prime.

Thanks for the heads up!

It was a little hard to believe when I saw the sign, then I spent about five minutes trying to decipher what the savings actually were:

Instant $15 Savings

Simpsons Season 6 and/or Simpsons Season 7 and/or 24 Season Four

So ultimately, it's $15 off each title (i.e. not a combined savings).

I believe that the correct price for 24 - Season 4 is actually around $42.49, bringing the price after rebate down to an amazing $27.49. I only wish I had waited on the Simpsons!

P.S. Pet peeve alert: Why do so many people put the second capital "c" in Costco? I am embarassed to admit that it drives me batty!
I thought capitalizing the second 'C' was the proper spelling of the name. If it ain't, I've been spelling CostCo wrong for awhile.

It ain't. Go the store website and it's "Costco." I of course get confused too.
Well, at least I'm not alone in my misspelling.

The mid-word capitalization/joining two words in product or company names is quickly becoming a pet peeve of mine. It's gotten so cliche that I just assume it's that way with companies like Costco.
Phew! Just double-checked the spelling in the RoundUp and found I haven't been capitalizing the second "C"!

BTW, I made the "U" in RoundUp a capital letter a long time ago. Hope that's okay!

Guo,

Pet peeve aside (and I sincerely appreciate everyone's taking it in the spirit it was intended and not taking offense), thanks so much for pointing out this amazing sale.

I also noticed that Rockford Files - Season 1 qualifies for the $7 discount, which brings its final price down to the $18-$19 range.

Regards,

Jay

No problem. I only wish I had written down all the deals for the sake of thoroughness. I'd forgotten about the Rockford Files discount.

I just bought Simpsons seasons 6-7 at Costco about three weeks ago for $30.49 each. Will they do a price adjustment or will I have to live the rest of my life in regret?

Coscto is exceptional with price adjustments and returns. All you have to do is ask.
They should do a price adjustment, but if not, then rebuy it at the lower price and take the sealed set back with your old(higher priced) receipt.

Thanks for the heads-up. Since most of the rebates are on Fox sets, would you happen to know if there's an instant rebate for The Shield Season 4? I would also like to know if there's a rebate for The Pretender, Remington Steele and King of the Hill(they are all regularly priced at $26.99 and share the same item number). Thanks!

I think the only deals on Fox TV sets were the Simpsons S6 and S7 and 24 S4.

Drove over just looking to pick up Peckinpah's box for 37.99 but they also had an instant 5:00 off rebate on a few of Universal's recent releases, picked up "War of the world" and "Cinderella man" ("Forty year old virgin" was another title)with this deal, also if you buy any of this others for 8.79,

Ned Kelly
Poseession
Far from Heaven
Catch me if you can
21 grams
Always
8 women
Elizabeth

you'll get 5.00 off the regular 18.39 price for the "The constant gardener", picked up "21 grams".

According to some posters at DVD Talk, there are some $4.99 Universal titles such as 12 Monkeys. They also have Donnie Darko Director's Cut for $12.99 with a $5 rebate, making the final price of just $7.99. I've been waiting for a deal on Donnie Darko.

Does this deal require a coupon?

Be careful -- my local Costco will not accept returns after 30 days. I don't know if they will do a price adjustment after that time.

No coupon needed.
Aaron-I'm surprised that your local Costco only gives you 30 days. My Costco will take anything back, at anytime and for any reason(I have a friend that took back an LCD TV after using it for a year and they gave him a full refund). They will also give you a full refund for opened DVDs. That's one of the top selling points of Costco, their extremely easy return policy.
Long story short, Costco gave me an incredibly difficult time getting the price adjustment.

First, I called a bunch of Costco locations and was repeatedly told that I needed my receipt to get a price adjustment on a previously purchased product. FYI: they said their policy is 30 days on price adjustments, but they will accept anything as long as you have a receipt. So, I quickly looked through numerous boxes and found my receipt. (I just moved, which makes finding simple things, like receipts, impossible.) When I arrived at the store, I went toward the DVD section to see if they had any signs advertising the sale on the Simpsons or 24 DVDs. There are absolutely no signs up for those sales. At that point, I went up to the membership desk and the associate looked up The Simpsons season 6 in the computer. It was listed as $30.49. Since I knew that the sale was most likely an instant rebate, I explained my situation to her. She said that it was marked $30.49 and there was no sale that she knew of. At this point, I was frustrated because I was pretty certain it was on sale and they just didn't advertise it. My friend was buying a copy of Empire Record Remix Edition (which was only $5.88!) and I brought up a copy of season 6 of The Simpsons to see if there was an instant coupon. Indeed, I was right and the sale price came up after she scanned it. I had her void season 6 off and then I took my copy of the receipt with the sale price on it to the membership counter and explained my situation again. The girl who helped me the first time said that they were out of season 6 (which I clearly knew was wrong because I had just voided a transaction with a copy of it in my hands), and also her point didn't make a difference because it was a price adjustment and not an exchange. There wasn't anything she could do about it since I had the sale price on a receipt from there, just moments earlier, showing the instant rebate. She relented and gave me back $30. So I saved a bunch of money thanks again to this forum. Thanks for the heads up!

Sorry it was a pain for you to get the adjustment.

At my local I saw a guy bring in a heavily used barbecue grill - there was crud on it, scorch marks, the whole deal. They took it back no questions asked.
Guy-my Costco is the same way about returns, never any questions asked. Of course there are always some that will abuse this friendly policy, like the BBQ guy. It never ceases to amaze me the balls that some people have in returning used merchandise.

What's the price for 40 Year Old Virgin?
At my Costco, 40 Year Old Virgin was marked $18.99.
I got you beat Will, $18.39 at my Costco.

Will, some time back I had a copy of (I think!) Buffy Season 4, which it turned out had some kind of rebate if you bought it and Angel at the same time, but it wasn't marked in the store I bought it from, so I just bought Buffy.

When I later found out about the deal, I went back to the customer service of Costco, and explained that I'd bought one, but wanted to get the deal. They told me to simply buy the two sets together there and then, and then return a copy of Buffy on the old receipt. This worked well and didn't entail having to painfully explain the whole business to a service rep.
I blind bought the 40 year old virgin for 13.49 after the sale. The film was worth that price. i liked it.

The Simpsons was 30.49 by me with the 15 dollar discount. Incredible price! I was almost ready to pay 40 for it.
Well ... Thanks, guys!

I just went by Costco today and snagged the Simpsons Season boxes and The Rockford Files! These are truly incredible prices for these boxes and I'm really glad now that I had not previously pulled the trigger on these shows.

While there I noticed that "Enemy Mine", "Journey to the Center of the Earth", and a few other "semi-classic" SCI-FI movies were on sale for $7.50 each, so I scooped those up as well.

The sale ends January 22nd!

I gotta' tell you, I'm enjoying the heck out of Costco (been a member since July 2005).
Score! $15.59 for Simpsons #7, $18.59 for Kong-A-Rama, and $7.99 for Office Space (although I had to hunt for that one, because the only box of Fox single-disc sale titles was buried under some other things and not even on the DVD table).

This is what I get for complaining about people listing their purchases in the Weekly Roundup thread.
