MyFi receiver sale

Ron,

How do you get the SkyFi2 for $39.99 as shown in the ad? I logged in using the OPIANTXM6 code and it's coming up at $79.99 (same as my DirecTV code gets me).

I would definitely buy this if I can get it at $39.99. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks!
You are the wrong site. Don't go to the linked site, go to partners.xmradio.com like it shows in the ad, then use opiantxm6 as the access code. You will see the prices in the ad.
Nope. Tried it. Still getting SkyFi2 at $129.99 with $50 instant rebate for $79.99. The prices shown in the ad are nowhere to be found.

Care to set me straight? I'd really like to get in on the deal shown in the ad but it doesn't exist as far as I can see.

Try this instead:

1. Go to http://espromotions.xmradio.com/xm/
(that's the link that partners.xmradio.com forwards to)

2. There should just be a box there asking for a promo code. Put in: opiantxm6

3. The next page will show you the devices for sale. Scroll down and check the I AGREE box and press the SHOP NOW! button.

If that doesn't give you the pricing, I don't know what to tell you. The only place I see the pricing you are talking about is on the Holiday Offers page, which this link should not take you.

It works for me in both IE and Netscape. Maybe you need to clear your cache?

That worked. Thanks!

A Pioneer for my wife and a SkyFi2 for me. Thanks a bunch for the link Ron.

Make sure you check your credit card statement. They charged me a $14.99 activation fee in addition to the $39.99 for the SkyFi system and 3 mos service.

I called and had to argue with the CSR but I got it waived (supposedly as a credit to my XM account).

I'll let you know if it does indeed post. I received my system yesterday.

Yeah I just picked up a Roady XT for my Truck so I can free my XM2Go from it's servitude there $29.

Oh man, the Delphi is out of stock. Which of the other portable ones should I get?

Al,

Is this a Xmas gift?

If not, will they take a raincheck on the Delphi?

I say this because I think the SkyFi2 is the
best out of all the receivers for its features
and if you can hold off a few weeks in order to
get it, you'll find it worthy of the wait.

If not, let someone here recommend another unit.
I've heard the Delphi's being discontinued btw.
This is just a x-mas gift for myself so I can wait. I just wanted to take advantage of the low price.
Ok, I just checked and it shows that the Delphi is back in stock. I went ahead and ordered one for myself.

A coworker told me he wanted a couple for him and his wife so I ordered 2 for him, also.

I prefer the SkyFi because of the stock
ticker and sports scores as well as the
"infamous tweak" that makes it perform
better in the car and home.

What is that tweak you ask?

It only works for a SkyFi that is connected
directly to your car radio or boombox (not modulated).

If I remember correctly, you go into the
MENU and turn on the FM modulation (even
though you won't use it). You will immediately
notice volume strength as you move around the
preselected broadcast channels in the SkyFi
menu. Select the very first choice (88 or 89.x
I think) and EXIT.

Makes a HUGE difference in overall sound quality.

I want that 2go

Just got the SkyFi bundle with home and car kit. Pretty good deal!

Does anyone know if there's a way to still get the toslink mod for it?

Mike,

I am working on getting you a response to your
question. Hang tight!
We can still do the TOSLINK mod for $85.

Just email me at ziggy@xm411.com

Mike,

I have had Ziggy's people personally
do the mod on my SkyFi and I can vouch
for their work.
What is the TOSLINK mod?

Al,

The Toslink is the same kind of direct
digital connection that can be found on
the back of your DVD player or receiver.

All satellite radio receivers (such as the
SkyFi) have RCA output to receiver/boombox
input.

What this modification does is add a TOSLINK
output which lets you create a pure digital
connection. The result is audio that is
noticeably better than using RCA connections.

Ziggy, I'm interested. Is the mod internal or external (I saw some pics of one person's where they stuck the thing on the back. It was fine for him, but won't work for me.

Any chance that it can be available as a 'kit'?

Just to clarify, this is the SkyFi 2 that I have...

I got the Delphi yesterday. Tried it this morning on my train ride in and it works pretty well. I had 3 bars of signal strength about 95% of the time. It didn't drop out when we went under bridges. Of course I sat on the upper level of the Metra train and on the south facing side and had to hold it up to the window. I need one of those suction things.
