HTF REVIEW: Batman Begins - Two Disc Deluxe Edition (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). - Page 2

Will pick up, but I'm a little disappointed with the extras. Just seems like a bunch of short docs to me. Without a commentary, deleted scenes, and a true thorough single making-of doc, it isn't something I'd give 5 stars to. I'd also like to have seen more promotional material.

But, like I said, I will definitely pick this up.

is there another version coming as there is no audio com?

My wife wanted to put this movie up on our Netflix que, but I told her no need as we'd be owners when it comes out

gotta love screen caps in a review.

herb would you consider adding the date of release to the reviews?

Great review!

Missed this in the theatres and can't wait! A friend of mine, Catherine Porter is in this, she plays the

Will be a treat.

Good work, Warner!

Definitely a day-n-date for me as well. This was the only movie I've seen twice in the theaters in a very, very long time.

As long as the inevitable double dip has a longer cut of the film and all-new extras I won't complain (too much ) about having to buy it twice.

Of course, with HD-DVD/Blu Ray coming out next year, I'm going to be buying this movie twice regardless...

Great review Herb. Can't wait to own the dvd!

A Deluxe Edition is NOT a "Deluxe Edition" without a Commentary! As much as I love "Batman Begins"...no commentary, no sale.
Even if the director didn't want to do one?

Just curious

Paul,

How could you not buy a movie you love just because it doesn't contain a commentary?! I don't mean this to sound sarcastic -- but I find that very, very curious.
I know I'm sounding spoiled and melodramatic, but I was looking forward to hearing the commentary! Oh well...
Mine, mine, mine. I'm already looking forward to the 18th, henceforth known as Barg's Bat-day... five movies, 10 discs and me roughly $80 poorer.

No early reviews of the Anthology set? I'm surprised.
not buying a dvd cause it doesn't have commentary is just plain weird
post #44 of 436
maybe he meant he isnt buying the 2 discer due to no commentary.

I absolutely love this film.....my favourite of the year. The 2-disc is mine on the 18th along with the Anthology set. Herb, great review sir!
Rave review for the video, yet you still took away half a star. Why?
Thanks for the review & screen caps!!!
I'm very happy to hear the great review. Batman Begins is one of the best movies of the year. October 16th-October 23rd I not only have my Horror Movie Marathon for Halloween,AND I'm going to have Batweek with....
Batman Anthology Box Set(Well, maybe JUST the specials on B&R)
Batman Begins-Deluxe Edition
Definitely can't wait to pick up Begins along with the Anthology. I'll get to use "Batman & Robin" as a coaster for my drink.
Hmmm... I NEVER give this much thought but I really like the cover art for this release.

I have to buy this - albeit sans DTS.
Great review Mr. Kane! I have really cut back on my purchases this year but this will be one of them for sure.
Thanks for the review.

Any subtitle in the second disc?

Thanks again.
Very nice! I cant wait to pick this up. I saw this openining night at a theater near my house with my dad. We loved it so much, we walked into the next room and watched the movie again!

I am happy that Warner is handling this with their usual excellent A/V presentation, and nicely done 2 disc SE. None of the typical Fox/Sony BS of single disc barebones now, and 2 disc SE later.

I will also pick up the first and second films because although they may not be true to the original vision of Batman, I love Tim Burton and want his images to be in my collection.

Great review! Thank“s!
I must corroborate Mr. Kane's opinions on the video and audio quality on this DVD. It is truly exemplary.

Unfortunately, I haven't received the screeners yet.

Huh. That's a bit of a surprise, you'd think WB would throw everything together in one package for you reviewers... but looking forward to it anyway.
Fantastic! I'm really glad this movie turned out to be so good.
are the extras worth watching just once or more then once?
it seems more like fluff stuff then say the 2 doc like the fly or star wars?

I'm probably not the right guy to answer your question Jacob. I can't EVER remember going back to watch an extra feature more than once - but that's just me.
