TNA Impact! - Page 4

The show was alright, a little sloppy.

The White Sox angle still seems like it's out of nowhere to me.

I don't think I'll be able to watch the PPV on Sunday. I'll get it on Monday or Tuesday.

Dale 'The Demon II' Torborg on my television!? Hell yes the White Sox angle is great! I'll always remember Vampiro's words in the graveyard: "Join me or DIE, Dale!"

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Think Stinger's signed for a long term deal? I remember in an interview a while back he made is clear that he was NOT a TNA wrestler. At the time he had just done the appearances as a favor for Jerry Jarrett. He wants a light schedule so TNA should be great for him. I've missed the Stinger. Hopefully IT'S SHOWTIME!
Steve, its reported as 1 year $500,000. That makes him the highest paid wrestler in the company. I'm sure that makes a few guys less than happy.

Turning Point:

-Major event to change TNA forever
-JJ vs. Rhino (World title)
-AJ vs. Joe (X-division title)
-AMW vs. 3D (Tables match)
-Sabu vs. Abyss (Barbed wire)
-Christian vs. Monty
-Raven vs. Mystery Opponent
-Sabin, Dutt and Demon vs. Diamonds; featuring White Sox AJ, and Heenan on commentary
-4 Live Kru vs. Team Canada
-Bentley and Aries vs. Shelley and Strong

There are only two matches I'm not looking forward to: Sabin, Dutt and Demon vs. Diamonds, and 4 Live Kru vs. Team Canada.

I'm not looking forward to the 4 Live Krew match. I am looking forward to Sabin Dutt and Torborg's match because Bobby Heenan is doing commentary. It won't be a bad match either, Sabin and Dutt are both good, Skipper is under used, and Diamond is not bad...only Young and Torborg are useless at this point.

Jeff Hardy no showed? He should be fired. TNA has used him up and now they have no need for him, especially with Christian around.

The barbed wire match was sick. It was really great to see it finally and in true form after all of these false barbed wire matches delivered by other promotions. What was that object Sabu used to slice and stab Abyss?

Basebrawl match was okay.

X-Division tag match was good. One of those guys took a nasty fall on the head.

It was awesome to see Konnan whack NAO over the heads with the chair.

AJ and Joe had a great match. AJ looked really dazed and there were points late in the match where it seemed he was confused what to do. I'm glad Joe won the title.

Main event was a good brawl. That spot with Rhino goring JJ through the table and into the tunnel was awesome.

Sting? I think it's a good idea for TNA to get someone as big as he is, especially in this first year on Spike. However, I don't know how good he will be in the ring and how much spotlight he'll take away from the other guys.

BTW, anyone know the status on Kevin Nash?

Unlikely to ever wrestle again.
What happened to Nash? Last I heard, his personal problems prevented him from main eventing the PPV a while ago.

Those personal problems were caused by chest pains the night before Bound for Glory. He did not have a heart attack, but he was told not to wrestle again.

The rating for the special last thursday was a 0.8, not bad given this one was not promoted at all. It not being promoted at all was a spike TV call also.

They told TNA not to plug the show too much during impact because they feared people would get bored of hearing it, so they told TNA that they'd handle promotion...well, yeah.
Here's some news from the Dave...

--Jay Lethal and Homicide were scheduled to start today at the TNA tapings. Lethal was scheduled against Joe, so that's a squash loss for sure. Homicide
was to be in Konnan's new group, at least at some point.

I've not seen any RoH, but I've heard good things about Homicide and so will be looking forward to this.

The first TNA match of 2006 is...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Americas Most Wanted Vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels

The Main Event for Final Resolution is:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Sting and Christian vs. Jeff Jarrett and Monty Brown

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Earl Hebner
debuted at the tapings as well.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
What's Hebner's role? I can't say that news really excites me. Did they just hire him to have somebody to shoot on Vince? He's recognizable to wrestling fans for sure, but Earl Hebner?
Actually PWInsider had this correction Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Its Dave and not Earl that was at the tapings. From what I read, he just came out and observed during a few matches, like he was a scout or something.

iMPACT was pretty good last night. Christian is beyond awesome if I haven't mentioned that yet.
I only saw a little of it so far.

That segment with Christian and Santa rocked.

They've done a terrible job of teasing Sting.

The rating was a 0.9 this week.

This is above average, and really good news seeing as how the show was airing on Christmas eve.
Indeed. Tonight's double show should be interesting in both storyline development, wrestling, and even more so in terms of what the ratings will end up. I am excited to see the match that will be on the "first match of 2006" edition, that should be very interesting.

Another A+ show from TNA tonight. It was nice seeing A.J. Styles and Christian twice. I was wondering why A.J. was lacking with the high spots in the first match, but at the end when they announced a tag match, it all made sense. A really well done match - classic.

A good show, but that UFC special was beyond cool as well.
Yeah, the UFC special was cool. Friggin' Ice Man is da man!

Anyone have any idea if Sting will have his "The Crow" look or if he'll go back to his short/crew cut hairstyle?

I hope its neither actually, Sting could use a new look.

The ratings were strong on New Year's Eve. 0.8 for the early show and 0.7 for the midnight show. That's tremendous given that the early show went up against football on a night where people usually go out, and given all the other stuff on at midnight 0.7 has to be good as well, actually another good sign is that the early show was not at the usual start time.

Watch this week, the 6 man tag is said to be the best match ever on Impact.
Who's in the 6 man tag again?
Its Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels/Chris Sabin vs. Austin Aries/Alex Shelley/Roderick Strong
post #115 of 704
They've been suggesting that he'll have the Crow look. I'd like to see him with the Crow hair and attire, except the face paint and scorpion logos are mixed colors.

It's the first time I noticed it, "HAIL SABIN!" heh, gotta love it.

I really enjoyed tonights episode - some really nice matches and interviews, with the highlight being the 6-man tag and then "The Truth's" match next.

I don't know what the purpose of the Ron Killings Vs. Bobby Roode match was.

The Sting segment was heavily edited and that's a good thing.

I thought the Christopher Daniels DVD wasn't due out until Tuesday? If its out now then my dreams of having it a few days soon might come true.

More than a few stores have been reported as having it out already. This would include the one from which I purchased it. Forum rules don't allow me to say which one I know for sure broke street.

Its only a 1-disc DVD which was kind of a surprise as most of the TNA DVDs I have are 2 discs, only the Daniels one and the Ultimate X Collection are one discs, of the ones that I own.
