Re: TNA Impact!
At this point, I don't see TNA becoming a threat to WWE. They've had some opportunities but have never taken real advantage of them.
WCW had a built-in fanbase when Nitro debuted, a lot bigger than the TNA fanbase. Also, Nitro was going head-to-head with Raw, and it was a nice alternative to Raw. It was different. The live feel to the show had a lot to do with it for me, as did the big matches. And then the whole NWO angle took off.
Problem with TNA is, first of all, they just don't have an identity. They keep switching around, trying different things, and it's just a real turn off. It's like how WCW was trying to rebuild itself during and after Russo. A year or two ago, TNA had something really great going on, where the X-Division, the tag team division, the heavyweight division, and the "big stars" division were all treated pretty much equally. It was nice seeing guys like AJ and Joe in the main events, while guys like Sting and Jarrett still got their spotlight but not be the focus.
Things just started falling apart when Russo was writing again and when Angle showed up. Besides one or two great matches with Joe, I don't remember anything else good about Angle in TNA.
TNA definately has some famous guys, like Sting, Nash and Hall, Booker T, Angle, Christian. But the only guy whom TNA has benefited from is Christian.
Guys like AJ (not this goofy version), Daniels, Abyss, and Joe need to be established as main eventers. Let these guys appear in those backstage segments often, not Angle (and his wife), Hall and Nash, and Sting.
