TNA Impact! - Page 20

Re: TNA Impact!

Happy 5 years to TNA, or something.

Last week's episode was an awesome show with Harris-Storm in the main event.

I'm not a fan of the Daniels character either.

However, I'm a huge fan of Black Machismo.

Oh, and one more good thing about TNA...nobody's car was blown up.

Killing Mr. McMahon is a great storyline...TNA has gone downhill for me since Kurt angle showed up and the Slamiversary results make it worse...They need to get a belt on Samoa Joe and ride him like The Rock.

Looks like we will be seeing Killings in WWE soon...

The deathbell will toll for TNA if the rumors about Hulk Hogan coming in are true
post #575 of 704

Re: TNA Impact!

IMO, the problem is that they have so many top stars now and they're trying to push all of them at the same time that it just makes it hard to concentrate on just one.

I still feel bad for Samoa Joe for building and hyping the guy up so much before they brought Christian, Sting and Angle and now he sort of has to take a back seat to those "bigger" names. Same thing with A.J Styles. That dude was a very important component in getting TNA where it is but he's also getting lost in the shuffle.

I haven't heard any Hogan rumors but I assume it's about him joining TNA? Oh God...what are these guys doing?

Hulk Hogan is not going to TNA, rumors are called rumors for a reason. Hulk Hogan's been rumored to be going to TNA for years now, and there's a lot of reasons why ultimately, it will never happen. Even when he did the angle in Japan, I knew it would never go past that point and it never did.

He may end up in WWE eventually, though for his sake I hope if he goes back there that he gets a better run than the first time. However, for the time being he will work AAA in Mexico.

I could say a great many things and have rewritten this section of this post many times. I will say for now that you and I have very different definitions for what constitutes great and we'll agree to disagree and move on.

As for Samoa Joe, for anyone that thinks he should've won the title on Sunday...you need to think again. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a very long and dominant reign as TNA champion for Joe and making him the center of the company. But having said that, he should not have won the title on Sunday.

Joe needs to chace Kurt Angle. It is the only way for the story to make sense. Angle won the first series of 3 matches (2-1) and has pretty much had the upper-hand the whole time. So why would anyone want to see the guy who has already dominated the feud chase the guy he's owned up to this point? Plus, Joe needs to win his first TNA World title one on one in the middle of the ring, not after completing the billion tasks required of anyone to win KOTM.
TNA is moving in the direction of putting the belt on Joe and he'll get it at Bound for Glory if not sooner (and if it were up to me, it wouldn't be before BFG)

Now please don't anyone think that I'm pro-TNA, although WWE is sure tempting me to go that road, fact is they still do a lot of things that annoy me beyond all reason. Most of which I mention in my reviews of iMPACT, when he show doesn't frustrate me to the point I stop in the middle.

Re: TNA Impact!

TNA is close to if not already completed a deal with troubled Tennessee Titan Adam 'Pacman' Jones.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Test and Matt Morgan
debuted at the iMPACT tapings tonight.

Re: TNA Impact!

Ugh, I hate exams, especially that one. Doesn't TNA already have a better version of that guy? Hoyt.

I don't like what they've been doing to Abyss. Sting makeup? Having him talk?

What happened to Daniels' new gimmick and storyline? I'm glad they dropped it. Never saw Triple X, but I instantly loved them. Good to see Skipper back.

Re: TNA Impact!

I don't have a problem with him talking especially in his quick soundbite fashion.

Creative decided to wait on the Daniels thing after the Sting match at Slammiversary didn't go the way they'd hoped. If you've never seen XXX then track down AMW Vs. XXX from Turning Point 2004, one of if not the greatest match in TNA history.

Re: TNA Impact!

Fatu is in TNA!!! Raise the roof!!! Awww yeah!!! TNA is gonna be huge now.

Sigh.

So, Impact will be going 2 hours in a few weeks. Really hope they spend more time on the in-ring action, than with the entertainment. They really need to distinguish themselves from a Raw or Smackdown.

One thing TNA has done right lately is getting a new female backstage interviewer.

Re: TNA Impact!

I've been recording the last few TNA's and recently watched one from August (goes to show you how eager I've been to keep up with it). Abyss supposedly came up with this match where the ropes would be covered with barb wire and you could only win by pinning your opponent but not before busting him open and making him bleed first. I missed that PPV but it seemed an interesting concept.

Did anyone happen to catch this match and if so, how was it?

Re: TNA Impact!

Andres that whole PPV pretty much blew chunks and the match you reference was kind of lame.

However, rejoyce because for Bound for Glory, TNA's bringing back the greatest most horrible gimmick match you're ever going to see. The reverse battle royal makes its return.

Because the first one didn't suck enough they're bringing it back.

Re: TNA Impact!

I read on another board that they are starting a women's division? Is that true?

~T

Re: TNA Impact!

Yes, with the move to 2 hours they are adding a women's division and crowning the first women's champion at Bound for Glory in a 10 women battle royal. Yeah, there's a battle royal and reverse battle royal on the same show.

Gail, Christy, Traci, Jackie and Roxie are the 5 women in the match announced. 5 more are coming.

BFG is gimmickmatchimania with a battle royal, reverse battle royal, Ultimate X, Tables match, Monster's Ball, and "There must be a winner" all on the show...so far.

Re: TNA Impact!

Thanks Casey. So how does this reverse battle royal work?

Re: TNA Impact!

Well, you have to see it to believe but here's my best attempt at a description.

Basically, all 15 guys start on the floor. In this match, the first 4 guys to make it in to the ring will compete in a match to determine who gets a future title shot.

So instead of trying to throw an opponent over the ropes to the floor, you're trying to go over the ropes in to the ring.

Believe me it looks even worse than it sounds because you've got guys who just have to stand there as though they're unable to get in the ring because they're not fighting with anyone. In the big book of stupid gimmick matches this is on page one.

But, I had so much fun trashing last year's that I can't pass up another great opportunity, even if I do have to pay for it.

Lol, you're right. It does sound pretty dumb. Who came up with that idea? Vince Russo?

Re: TNA Impact!

I don't know for sure, some maintain it was not Russo's idea but to me it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is someone introduced the plague to earth and now it must be stopped.

Re: TNA Impact!

Kurt Angle is talking to the IFL about fighting for them

Yeah, I posted this in the UFC thread as well, but since Angle is also a TNA guy it goes here.

However, to make this up to anyone reading it twice, here's an extra bit of news.

All 10 women involved in the TNA Gauntlet to crown a women's champion:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Gail Kim
Christy Hemme
Traci Brooks
Jackie Moore
Roxie Laveaux
Amazing Kong )regularly works in Shimmer)
Shelly Martinez (formerly Ariel on the ECW brand)
ODB (works in Ohio Valley but doesn't have a WWE development deal)
Angel Williams (formerly under WWE Developmental deal)
Talia Madison (Works mainly in the Northeast U.S.)

I posted that to my site earlier but am leaving it here for you as well.

TNA spoilers for 10/04 first 2 hour episode

It just sounds like a one hour iMPACT extended to another hour. In other words, same ol' same ol'.

Hmmm, sounds exactly like a one hour show.

Re: TNA Impact!

sonjay dutt and chris sabin were going to leave but they were asked to stay until the 2 hour tapings. I think with the more tv time it will get better (only if they control vince russo's creative genius). More story lines with more wrestlers should only help.

They've done everything in 2 hours that they did in 1 but just more.

Re: TNA Impact!

Bound for Glory!

I can't wait. I can't afford it either, so I'll just be reading the results.

I have been very happy with the last two weeks of 2 hour Impact! - They have delivered a very fun product.

For the majority, matches are a little longer, more characters have time to develop - and for me there is just a better overall feel.

I've been very impressed with LAX as of late - Hernandez especially.

XXX and LAX matches? COUNT ME IN.

I can't stand Team 3D.

I think that Pacman Jones needs to just leave. He seems like he's reading from a script just like Don West and Mike Tenay do. ...and he's probably making more than half of the roster combined.

My predicitions for tonight's PPV:

Sting defeats Angle

Jay Lethal defeates Chrisopher Daniels

AJ Styles and Tomko defeat Killings and Pacman Jones

LAX defeat XXX

Rhino wins the Monster's Ball

Samoa Joe defeats Christian Cage after Morgan interfers (could be reversed in Cage's favor)

Steiner Brothers defeat Team 3D in the final two falls

Gail Kim wins the match with a smoking how Shelly Martinez #2.

JR Fatu wins the Reverse Battle Royal - with Robert Roode being my second guess.

Re: TNA Impact!

I got the PPV, first one in many months.

Why does the voice actor know more about who should be the top stars of TNA than Russo and Jarrett do?

The opener was the best match on the show. I don't understand these bird's view and close-up shots that don't capture how awesome the spots are.

I thought the battle royal was to determine a number one contendar? Instead its for the bracketing for a tournament? Makes no sense. Shelley and Sabin rocked.

The tables match was fun.

I really like Awesome Kong.

Who's the Apollo Creed guy? He has some nice moves.

Joe and Christian had a really good match.

When did Daniels go back to his gimmick? That pointing and talking to the ceiling crap needs to go, waste of time.

Monster's Ball was the worst one I've seen. I think this match has lost its fun. Raven and Goldust really need to be let go. They just contribute nothing to TNA.

I'm not understanding this Kevin Nash thing.

Main event was alright, both guys tried hard. That top rope move Angle did was nasty. Was he supposed to knee Sting or did he just mess up?
