What's the news on Scott Steiner? I haven't seen him on TV in a while.

I'm not altogether certain, but its either 1 of 2 dates.

Either he worked the number of dates on his contract and it has expired and he's not coming back or,

He's off TV to prevent his character from becoming stale and or because they have no idea for what to do with him next.

Re: TNA Impact!

That's the worst possible news! At least I didn't experience TNA back then like you Casey.

Wow. Not good at all. No idea why they are doing that. Not much can be done within the one-hour format, so it's really lame.

Re: TNA Impact!

Is Russo still a Born Again Christian or has that not stuck with him? I read that he had sworn off all his old work as worthless filth, not that I think it would make him a better writer, one way or the other

Re: TNA Impact!

Thi, I had the great fortune to not see a lot of Russo's first TNA tenure, but I haven't forgiven him for his WCW days and I never ever ever will.

here is my response to the announcement and this one may be less charitable than my own

OCC Live Coverage - TNA No Surrender 2006

Including Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
2 major announcements. A new timeslot for iMPACT and that Kurt Angle is coming to TNA.

Re: TNA Impact!

That's really great news for TNA. I still hate the addition of Russo, and it's obvious what he wrote for the PPV. That stuff isn't just crap but it's so freakin' old.

Re: TNA Impact!

OCC Aftermath: TNA No Surrender 2006

I give my thoughts on the show as a whole, including both announcements, I give my thoughts on each match and my fantasy booking for Angle's first night in the company.

I would illaborate more, but to be honest I've typed a lot of words this weekend.

I have written the following:

  • Previews for TNA No Surrender and UFC 63
  • Live blogs for No Surrender, UFC, and TNA Slammiversary
  • Covered today's early NFL games
  • Written post show thoughts for No Surrender and UFC
  • Posted all the major news (most recent is TNA's press release on the announcements including a quote I found way creepy)
and I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting.

So really I'm tired of typing but yet this post is kind of long since I listed everything I've written since Friday.

Regarding Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Kurt Angle
, I called it on the WWE thread a few days ago.

Vince Russo? That can't be good. I wasn't watching when he pulled all that shit on WCW but I ready plenty about it. That...can't...be...good.

9/28/2006 - TNA iMPACT recap my own that is.

I made a lot of jokes in that thing but this episode was actually quite watchable.

Re: TNA Impact!

Alright show.

Parts of the show felt lost. Why the heck were Luger and Bagwell there?

Joe vs. Abyss is a huge match. They had a great tease months ago at that PPV where they were involved in a battle royal. It was ruined a little by having Joe get the better of Abyss and I hope they don't get too much ring time together in their PPV match.

Russo's booking was evident. Don't see why he has to cram so much stuff into one segment. Let the wrestlers' wrestle in the ring without some friggin' ringside distraction.

The press conference was lame. It was supposed to come across live, then you see Cornett, Luger and Bagwell in the ring which totally ruined it.

That was ironically enough, last year's Bound for Glory.

Looking at the card, that show is stipulation city.

*Jeff Jarrett Vs. Sting - NWA World Title
Belt Vs. Career
Kurt Angle as Ringside Enforcer

*LAX Vs. AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels - NWA World Tag Team Titles
6 sides of steel

*Samoa Joe Vs. Raven Vs. Brother Runt Vs. Abyss
Monsters Ball

*Christian Cage Vs. Rhino
8-mile streetfight (now what the difference is between a streetfight and monsters ball is I'll never know)

*Senshi Vs. Chris Sabin - X-division title
No stipulations...yet

I have nothing more to say about iMPACT.

Casey... I loved your Impact review. More more more of them I say.

Monster's Ball will feature a big spot. That's the difference.

That's the third 1 I've done and it will be a regular thing as long as there's no NFL game on I'd rather watch.

T, I know what you're saying but lets not forget that Christian is a TLC veteran who isn't foreign to big spots and for that matter neither is Rhino. I guess the real question is whether or not TNA will try and convince us that all 4 competitors were locked in a room without food or water for 24 hours?

Casey, I had to see how bad the show was. I recorded it last night, but it turns out that I recorded UFC. Lucky me?

Re: TNA Impact!

Well, this season of Ultimate Fighter has not been good but I'll take any UFC show over iMPACT this last week or most of the time for that matter.

Here's just some of what you missed.

Samoa Joe comes out with the title to face off with Abyss, gets his ass kicked, Jarrett comes out there is a fight between Jarrett and Abyss that allows Joe to leave with the belt.

Joe comes out after the main event. Jarrett beats him down and reacquires his title. Christian gives Jarrett the Unprettier but is attacked by Rhino allowing Joe to leave with the belt.

Yes, Samoa Joe got punked twice on the same show.
