A quick check shows Amazon is not selling until Nov. 13 and the Howard Shore press release page says it is not Nov. 20th! Will it come out or not?

cd universe tells me they're prepping it. dunno if they're shipping it ahead of time or what not. i'm sure they'll be receiving stock anytime soon now =P. i can't wait for this cause ROTK is the best LOTR soundtrack of all 3 films!

Meanwhile, I actually got tickets to Stockholm Concert Hall November 25th, when Howard Shore himself will direct Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in LotR symphony !
Never thought it would hit our little town...

You'll enjoy it! I was able to attend a performance two summers ago and enjoyed every minute of it. Not an actual symphony and a bit heavy on music from the first film, but a real work of art that can stand apart from the films.

Thanks for the tip , the first two were really cheap compared to other sites, so they're on their way to me now. I will wait a little bit with the third, to see if it also will dip.

Did any one else wait on picking up either of the first two? Isn't Amazon's current pricing of $29.99 and $37.99, respectively, the least expensive any of the "Complete" releases have been anywhere?

Go to overstock.com and get it for $59 with shipping. You'll save $1 over Amazon's old price. Search around the net, and there is a 7% and 8% off coupon, too, but don't use paypal to pay (coupon won't work right).

iTunes has ROTK:CR for $25...but you don't get the physical media. Still, that's as cheap as it gets.

It's a pretty wonderful collection.

Can anyone tell if the bitrate of the ROTK:CR iTunes tracks are 128kbps or 256kbps? If I didn't want the DVD-A disk plus the whole package to complete my collection, I'd jump on this in a second.

Sometimes you just can't beat having actual media, regardless of the price.

I received my copy from Amazon today......it's made up of 4 CDs and a double-sided DVD Audio disc (Damn...they should have released 2 single-sided ones instead). Unfortunately, mine has to go back for an exchange.....the DVD is badly scraped and one of the CDs has a bunch of thick scratches on it too. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer.
