Man, that was a pretty hilarious episode (the Dundeys). I love the locale at Chilis...reminded me of Office Space.

Great start so far.

more goofy (over the top) than hilarious to me
the 'subtle' humor moments seemed to be missing and themes seemed a bit repetative from past episodes

likely intentional but it seemed like the cast addressed and played to the camera a lot more in this episode

there were some real nice Jim and Pam moments

probably my least favorite of the 7 episodes thus far but I hold the other 6 in such high regard

Dwight rushing to take off his shirt when Pam falls off the stool was the main LOL moment for me in this episode. I find that so much of the early portions of the episode was so uncomfortable to watch at times.

Yeah, I definately felt the same way. Some of the moments in the episode were like a train wreck, but there were funny moments as well.

But how can the Steve Carell character not just get so fired for the way he conducts himself with blatant sexual harrassment and racial stereotyping? I know it's a stupid complaint, but I end up wondering that everytime I watch an episode.

I guess that is one reason why I think the British version works better. It was a short run where the timeline of events seemed realistic and the ending of the series was logical. I could not see Carrell being allowed to run the office for, say, 8 seasons (should the show last that long)

It was nice of Pam to come to Michael's aid. Luckily she was drunk and can deny it later.

I can't see how they're going to keep Jim and Pam apart for 8 22 episode seasons!

dwight hitting the ooooooooooo yay button was hillarious

anyone else notice michaels hair was different? not slicked back
post #12 of 401
The first season, Michael's hair was made to look like he was losing his hair from the front area, but I guess they decided to reverse that trend because it'd be too hard to maintain that look.

Second ep- sexual harassment. Didnt expect the cameo by David Koechner, and some of the jokes were just hilarious! (Big William Hung fan?)

Great start so far; lovin the second season!

FW: great episode of The Oriface tonight

a return to form.....
that's what she said

"Mmmmmmmilf"

"I know you always leave me satisfied with a smile on my face."

Great ep.

What a painful episode to watch... but funny as hell.

I loved the line that went something like "Don't blame me, I just forward the emails... nobody arrests someone for just transporting drugs from one place to another!"

I see a threat of getting fired in Michael's future.

"Who's got two thumbs and hates Todd Packer...This guy!"

also, Dwight's particular quesiton that he asked the HR guy had me laughing so hard I thought I was gonna choke.

oh yeah, "The only thing I am worried about...is getting a boner." Classic.

Michael said that, not Kevin.

You know what's funnier? Watching this episode at work with a few co-workers and watching the co-workers go "Oh no, he did not just say that!" and then all the bust out laughter from seeing the work-related harrassment on display in the episode.

average episode tonight (Office Olympics)

maybe they meant to put a lesser episode up against playoff baseball?

anyone know who the writer was of tonight's script?

Not sure if this show is working for me. As much as I like Steve Carell, his Michael Scott is just no David Brent. Laughs come at a pretty sporadic pace and I'm just not feeling any connection with this show like I did with the BBC version. The Dwight character isn't working for me as well. I like Jim but Pam isn't really striking the right notes for me.

Maybe I shouldn't compare the two versions, but the BBC version actually brought me to tears on two occasions! The best this one will probably do is get me to keep the TV on.

Hah, the Olympics ep one was funny in a Season 1 kind of way.

Right now you pretty much have to get all your memories of the UK Office behind you when watching the show, as they have really grown apart with each new ep.

Great to know NBC ordered 7 more episodes.

Decent episode. Best line of the night:
"It's got three rooms and it's gay-friendly..."
"Where's the master bedroom?"

The doves had me LOL, great touch.

Did anybody else notice that Paul Feig was the director of this episode?

Not a bad episode, but it did drift away from The Office concept when they went to the condo community, even though it still had its funny moments.

For me, the funniest moment wasn't a line that was spoken, but Dwight's look at the camera right after the whole "oh, so it's an aquarium with snakes in it" exchange.

That was a great expression.

I liked that they expanded past the office environment. I still want the main action to take place in the office, but everyone ventures out during the day, so it's only natural to show some of that stuff too.

I like the way they depicted Michael's home buying worries, I'm sure many first-time home buyers have felt that way, yet it's rarely been used as sitcom material as far as I know.
Isn't there a thread in After Hours about buying a condo?

Dwight: I have been Michael's number two guy for about five years. And we make a great team. We're like one of those classic famous teams. He's like Mozart and I'm like...Mozart's friend. No, I'm like Butch Cassidy. And Michael is like...Mozart. You try and hurt Mozart? You're gonna get a bullet in your head courtesy of Butch Cassidy.

So far, this new season has kept me laughing. Hopefully they can keep it up for the rest of the season. Does anyone know how long this season will be? I haven't heard if NBC ordered a full season or not...
