Veronica Mars Season 2 - Page 11

Tonight's episode was a pretty fun whodunit.

"Ta-daaaaaa!!!"

Having Keith learn the cold, hard truth of his baseball idol was like watching that caveman kick the baby dino in the Fedex commercial.

So now we get VM and Jackie to start having each other's backs. At least Wallace was humane about that dunk booth (or he really can't throw a softball).

Beaver's get-back at Dick was good for some laughs. Logan doesn't deserve Hannah, what a cutie (who was her dad?)

Her dad was the one that claimed he saw Logan killing Felix on the bridge.

He looked familiar, and now that I think about it, he looked like the plastic surgeon, Dr. Tom Griffith. He was featured in the "Previously, on Veronica Mars..." preview. All those white men with brown hair and glasses look alike to me, though.

I agree. Same as reveal that Celeste Kane's blonde helper was working with duncan and vinnie. Definitely not a show for a casual viewer. This one really requires you pay attention. Perhaps that's why it's not building an audience fast enough.

Personally I think this one was one of the best of the most recent episodes, and hopefully is a sign for future episodes. Duncan's still in the opening credits though. I'm sure he'll reappear at some point... argh.

double post.

has to happen to everyone at least once I guess...

About Duncan:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
some spoiler sites have said the he's not going to be in any of the episodes for the rest of the season.

And last night's ep was hte first time that I actually didn't dislike Logan and thought that he actually was pretty good for Veronica. I bet they're gonna get back together in the end.

Rafael.

Didn't Hannah's dad see Logan at the night of him being on the bridge during last season's cliffhanger finale.
Thought I'd mention. Our UPN in Manhattan screwed up and played wednesday night's preview with the episode. It was kind of funny seeing an ad for THIS week right after the episode aired. I was like "Um... we just watched that."

Probably just a mistake with the local station, but still a big boo-boo.
My UPN affiliate also showed this week's episode as the preview for next week. It happened to alot of affiliates around the country.

We saw that too. Deja Vu all over again.

This was a pretty good episode overall.

Enrico Colantoni really carried the show. Keith's realization that even after all he's been through that he could still be so naive about something he cared about was handled incredibly well.

I also liked the tie-together with the Triton episode from last season.

Perhaps there will be a Magic Mountain episode coming up. That'll be nifty.

Same here.

Great episode. The who-dun-it was executed really well and I liked the Keith/Jackie's Dad interplay. Interesting seeing Logan hitting on the plastic surgeon's daughter. Obviously Veronica knows who the plastic surgeon is, but I can't remember if Logan did or not.

Beaver and Mac getting back at Dick was HI-FUCKING-LARIOUS.

I'm still confused at the end of the episode. Did Weevil steal the cash or did the teacher? I doubt Weevil would have planted the footprint evidence, and Veronica wouldn't frame someone.

They both did. Ms. Hauser was skimming off the top, and Weevil stole what was left over, planting some of it in Thumper's locker while pocketing the rest.

Maybe not for something that serious, but she wasn't above planting a bong in Logan's locker back in the pilot -- something that seems really excessive if you go back and rewatch the pilot now.

Hannah's dad - Dr. Griffith -- was not ON the bridge that night. He was completely lying to Lamb about the whole thing.

Logan remembers seeing the guy who called 911 and it was a different guy. That's why Logan wants to know why Dr. Griffith would go out of his way to participate in the frameup of Logan. We know that Griffith has some connection to the Fitzpatricks and is lying about the bridge as some sort of payback or something, but we don't know the details.

Logan did his homework and discovered that Dr. Griffith has a daughter named Hannah who conveniently attends Neptune High. Logan put on his "charming" hat and wooed Hannah just so he could put on that little show for her dad's benefit at the end. He's a magnificently devious charming bastard. And the look he gave the dad said, "You wanna mess with me? Well, I'm going to mess with your daughter." I think Logan's learned a thing or two from Veronica in the past year.

Yes, he's learned how to up the ante in a running feud based on incomplete information ...

...to the point that someone will burn your mansion down to the ground.

Heh. Well, at this point Logan feels pretty desperate and feels like he's got nothing to lose. So I can't blame him for doing whatever he can, even if it seems pretty reckless to mess around with a gang of meth head drug dealers.

He's facing a serious prison term on murder charges and all he knows is that Dr. Griffith (aka Nip/Schmuck) is totally lying about seeing Logan on the bridge. So he's doing whatever he can to try to find out why Griffith is lying, or to get him to recant his story. Weevil's been working the Thumper angle and Logan's working the Griffith angle, so they're both doing what they can.

I liked the episode but saw the teacher skimming off the top plot a mile away. I guess it's just been used so many times in the past that it seems familiar now.

By the way, there is no way a teacher could get away with the nasty comments she was throwing around last night.

Funny how Logan donned one of Duncan's argyle sweaters to set about wooing Griffith's daughter.

I loved Veronica's magician hands and "Ta-daa!". Kristen Bell definitely has some pipes. And her delivery of "Love...rollercoasters" was great.

Could be a contract thing. Beaver and Dick Jr are regulars in the opening credits and are often absent in the episodes.

And it could also be they don't have the time/money to recut the opening.

I'm loving this season even more than the first but I have to admit to getting pretty confused on occasion with all of the twists and turns. Not to beat a dead horse, but that two month gap really didn't do a whole lot for my retention either.
I agree, I thought this was one of the best episodes in awhile, probally one of the best episode in season 1/2

loved Veronica's whole scene on who done it.

And Logan's getting back(messing with) at Hannah's dad.

didn't anyone else get a Revenge of the Nerds vibe when Melody(bitchy/stuck-up, is that her name?) and her friends were selling the pies like crazy.
I thought they were doing something to the pies.
I couldn't figure out why people would want to lug around a pie while at the carnival doing other stuff there.

Yep, that was the first thing I thought of.

Her name is Madison. She was switched at birth with Mac, Beaver's new girlfriend (and those two were totally adorkable together). It's funny how many plotlines on this show sound like a bad soap opera when you describe them. But Rob Thomas, cast and crew make it work in an intelligent and original way.

Same here. I love the show, one of my favorites on TV, haven't missed an episode, yet after the month long break, I'll admit to forgetting quite a bit of the twists and turns.

I had no idea who the father was, and until reading the above, didn't know that Logan planned on meeting Hannah. Thought that was a coincidence.

Still a great show. Just wish they had played it straight without interruptions, like 24 or something.

And Dick used to date Madison, so in a slightly different universe....

I guess Mac should thank whoever switched her for saving her from a fate worse than death -- being Dick Casablancas's love monkey.

The weird thing is, I used to watch Buffy with the same enthusiasm as Veronica, but I never, for example, noticed Jonathan and Harmony until they got their own episodes. But I can tell you that Madison Sinclair first appeared in The Return of the Kane, where she rigged the student election so Duncan would win, her parents send a string quartet to school on her birthday, her sister is like a Mac Mini, and she's inadvertantly responsible for Veronica's rape.

I had my dad buy me season one, he wanted to see it too, i had already been watching. He's obessesed with the show, so it appeals to a lot of people.

Enrico Colantoni I think is a great actor, I've been catching up on Stargate and he shows up in an episode during Season 7 and plays a pretty messed up former Army guy who was friends with Richard Dean Anderson, they played off each other well. I think he's carried the show on many episodes. I'll still never forget when he told Veronica that he was in fact her father.

Kristen Bell continues to amaze me at how cute she actually is, the whole Ta-daa thing was funny.

Overall a great episode, Tina (I'll still think of her as Deb) Majorino is adorable and while it's a bit weird to see her with Beav it's cute. I hope she gets more screen time.
Francis Capra needs to grow some facial hair back, he looked about 13, if he didn't have the tatt's I would've thought he was. Eli is good with his neice though, who else just wanted him to pound Thumper when Thumper flicked the balloon and said "Oops I thought it was your head"?
I liked Clemmons little comment at the end of the episode too "That's why I listen to some (looks at V.) of my students."
And I can't say enough about Enrico's performance when he heard that Cook threw the ball game.

I love this show, it better back back next season.

I was surprised to find out that Kristen Bell is actually like 25 in real life, she still looks like she's 18. (and if any of you out there are interested, you all should check out her 2 deadwood episodes 7, and 8, disc 3 and 4, that is of course if you don't mind the non stop language)

We also saw her rebounding from some pretty horrible stuff at that time... so drastic measures seem more likely considering she was a 16 year old rape-victim whose best friend was murdered and the guy she framed with the bong was pretty much the head of those harrassing her at school. I guess what I'm saying is that it seems out of character for 18 year old Veronica, but for the Pilot it seemed just right for where she was.

In my high school I had teachers who not only said similar nasty things directly to students, but some even through out homophobic and racial remarks now and then as well.

If a student reports something it's difficult to get away with such language though. I agree that no teacher would likely get away with it in front of the Principal of the school (didn't some of her comments come out right in front of Van?) so I'm with you there.

Best part of teh episode was seeing the girl's father. Good lord, Logan is deliciously evil .

Some of the most disturbing stuff I've ever seen on a TV show.

Okay, ladies, please ignore this particular message.

Guys, have you seen this?

Ye-owza! I've never purchased an issue of Maxim, but this will be an exception.
