Veronica Mars Season 2 - Page 7

Yeah, that hurt the case, but Veronica, Duncan, and Logan have all seen the tape, and if Logan (his own son) testifies, that'll be pretty damning to a jury.

Still... Why did Dep. Leo steal all the tapes? If he was initially just looking to make some money, you'd think he would have left one in storage (or only stolen one and copied it), because he doesn't seem the type to tank the case - selling the tapes to Logan rather than the tabloids shows his heart sort of in the right place. Stealing them all would make sense if he were trying to make it look like Aaron was somehow responsible, but he was the one who put Keith on the trail of if being done for the money. I guess he's just not that bright.

THAT'S who that was! Man, it was driving me nuts when I was watching last night. I guess it's been longer than I thought since I've seen Scrubs.

for Meg
Myself, I'd be er if this wasn't the third time this season she'd been killed. Sure, last week doesn't count, but we got the massive gut-punch at the end of the first episode. As a result, especially when you throw in the way it happened way off-screen, I'm both kind of spent and a little doubtful that she's actually dead.

I thought this was the most poorly written of all the shows in the series' run so far. The exposition scenes in the deliberation room were excruciating. It was so obviously a recap for those completely unfamiliar with the case (us, the audience) and not for those who had just sat through the entire trial (the jurors). One bright spot was the knitting lady in the Henry Fonda role from Twelve Angry Men.

Sad about Meg as I like the character, but her storyline this season has been unbelieveable all along (survives the bus crash unscarred except the coma, baby also comes through just fine, the waking scene last week, and then she up and dies off screen). Yuck! And why in the world would she tell Veronica to look after her baby if she doesn't make it? Wouldn't that be a conversation to have with Duncan?

Ah well, I expect better things when they come back from hiatus in six weeks.

12 Angry Men Veronica Mars is not. It was almost painful to watch them copy 12 Angry Men so closely.

Well, she has been close enough to sticky situations before the breakup to know that if you need something to get done in Neptune, damn the consequences or who may be offended, you talk to someone named "Mars". Keith wasn't around.

And Duncan? Has violent episodes.
Will Duncan step up and claim the child as his? (It makes the "take care of baby" assignment from the past episode take on a whole other level of significance now).
Veronica being 'ok' with it being Duncan's baby? I am so not liking her this season. I get that she's doing her whole 'getting back to normal' crap, but it's things like that that just make me want to have a violent episode of my own. Although I do think Veronica and Duncan will break up soon, it's driving me crazy seeing her act like this.

I'm so glad Wallace is back!

Logan = hot. Logan crying = omg teh hawtness woo! Seriously, there's nothing hotter than a guy in touch with his emotions. And if there's one thing Logan's in touch with, it's his emotions.

Damn you, 5-week hiatus. Damn you.

I thought she was being sarcastic when she said that.

I just looked at Jason Dohring's IMDB page and he's playing Timothy McVeigh in a movie called Dreamland. I'm assuming it's THAT Timothy McVeigh. And I learned from an episode of America's Next Top Model that he's married, not that that will or should change how you feel about him Natalie .

I've only seen it once, but on review, you're right. It's just all the helpful crap about getting him into hospital afterwards that made me think she was alright with it.

I'm pretty sure that was just a workshop or something, because he's talked about it in interviews and I don't think its being released. And the married thing doesn't bother me half as much as the Scientologist thing, but he's so hot that I'll forgive it

I'm no fan of Scientology, but I could care less in this case as long as he's not an ass about it *cough*Tom Cruise*cough*. I've heard nothing but good things from fan who have met him. A bit of trivia: he's second generation COS, and his parents created the NeoPets.

Also, for anyone near Austin (or willing to travel there), there's an awesome VM event going on January 14 & 15 at the Alamo Drafthouse. From the info page:

Quote:
THE VERONICA MARS PANEL and SNEEK PEAK EVENT Benefiting AUSTIN VOICES FOR EDUCATION AND YOUTH!

Saturday Jan. 14th & Sunday Jan. 15th - 7pm
ALAMO DOWNTOWN - 409 Colorado St.

Creator and former Austinite ROB THOMAS and stars KRISTEN BELL (Veronica Mars), ENRICO COLANTONI (Keith Mars) and JASON DOHRING (Logan Echolls) live in person!

(Note: Rob Thomas in person both nights - cast confirmed for Saturday night but will only be at the Sunday event schedule permitting - check back to this website often for updates)

Watch VERONICA MARS Wednesdays at 9pm on UPN!
Season 1 DVD sets available on site!

One part Buffy, a dash of Nancy Drew, and a darkly realistic view of high school in America all add up to the best new teen drama in years, and we are extremely excited to announce that we're bringing two nights of Veronica Mars awesomeoness to the Alamo Downtown this January! You can participate in all of this, and support a wonderful local charity, Austin Voices for Education and Youth, all at the same time.

The show: At the start of the first season, Veronica Mars is a social outcast. Her best friend Lilly Kane was murdered, her dad has been run out of the sheriff's office for suspecting the Kane family in the death of their daughter, and Veronica's been raped at a party but she was too drugged to know who did it. Fortunately her dad is a private investigator and Veronica has picked up a few tips from him that she used to solve the whole case in one season.

The event: Both nights feature the world premiere of a new episode of the Series (directed by Rob himself), as well as a series of favorite clips selected by Rob, the writers and the cast. In between clips you'll hear anecdotes and other discussion about the show from our guests.

Plus! Each night will feature a live performance by a local band whose music was featured on Veronica Mars: On Saturday that band will be The Fire Marshalls of Bethlehem and on Sunday the band will be The Daylight Titans!

Still not enough for you? Save up your Pirate Points and join us for a special VIP lunch on Saturday afternoon at a local high school where you'll get to chat up close with the guests of honor AND eat a coveted meal delivered to you from off-campus, just like the popular kids at Neptune High! Seriously people, this is THE BEST SHOW on TV right now. It's the only show that Joss Whedon watches regularly. It got Salon's pick for best new show in 2004, an award they usually reserve for HBO programming. And with the stars and creator in person, you're going to have a tough time coming up with an experience to top this for the rest of 2006...
The tickets go on sale today (December 9) at 5pm EST, and judging by response from the folks over at the TWOP boards, you're going to have to act real fast to get these tickets. Unfortunately for me, I no longer have either the time or the money to attend.

3.42 million viewers last night.

It's pretty easy to see that when it's not up against LOST it scores pretty well, and when it is... the ratings are still up from last season, but not amazing.

These are the ratings as of now.

2.01 - 3.33 (Total), (1.8/5 18-49) sep 28
2.02 - 2.73 (Total), (1.0/3 18-49) oct 05
2.03 - 3.03 (Total), (1.3/3 18-49) oct 12
2.04 - 3.12 (Total), (1.5/4 18-49) oct 19
2.05 - 3.55 (Total), (1.6/4 18-49) oct 26
2.01R- 2.24 (Total), (1.5/2 18-49) nov 02
2.06 - 3.07 (Total), (1.3/3 18-49) nov 09
2.07 - 2.94 (Total), (1.3/3 18-49) nov 16
2.08 - 2.53 (Total) (1.0/3 18-49) nov 23
2.09 - 2.99 (Total) (1.2/3 18-49) nov 30
2.10 - 3.42 (Total) (1.4/4 18-49) dec 07

For comparison I've dug up some of the numbers from last season. Although what really matters is if the show can improve in the timeslot it is in... from the year before. Which means it needs to be getting better than Kevin Hill (which most weeks it does, usually just barely). I also looked over some of the rerun ratings... and usually it's pretty dismal sometimes as low as 1.8 million viewers with a .8/1 share in the 18-49 demo... So far this season, the only episode that's been rerun (the season 2 premiere) hasn't had much of a drop. So even second run episodes are doing well. Not bad at all. Jason's right, it's too early to really worry because nothing is decided until later, but it'll get the full season no doubt, and barring any huge drops I think many have agreed it's a safe best at least a season 3 order is likely. It keeps trending up...

Hopefully it will keep improving. If I lose Arrested Development and VM in the same year, I may be forced to never watch TV again.

Tell me about it. Then again, I swore that I'd never watch TV after My So-Called Life was canceled. Or I swore I'd never watch ABC again. Or something.

Anyway . . . I didn't like "One Angry Veronica" much at all, although the Logan crying scene was pretty great and a highlight of the entire season so far. (I'm with Natalie all the way on the hotness and appeal of Logan. Seems to be a popular opinion with the female VM fans.)

But I'm still enjoying the show and I will be very upset if VM doesn't get a third season. This show is truly special and holds my interest in a way that few TV shows ever have before.

I'm finally caught up. I kind of teared up when Wallace showed up at the door. He was just what Veronica needed right then.

Hey, just wondering: do you think Keith knew Wallace was coming over is why he went to bed?

Kristin at E! Online is holding a "Save Your Favorite Endangered Show" by allowing each person to e-mail her the title of one show they would like saved. She has a list of shows to choose from. Veronica Mars is on the list due to declining ratings.

Go to her page and send your vote:

http://www.eonline.com/Gossip/Kristi...05/051216.html

Unfortunately, you can only vote once and the top three shows' network will get a letter from Kristin pleading to save that show.

She actually seems to think VM is pretty safe, saying it's only on the list because it deserves better ratings. But, since it's the only one I watch, I sent an e-mail in support of it anyway.
Yeah, I'm voting for VM as well.

I was considering voting for Arrested Development, but the hope is that Showtime will pick it up... and the e-mail is gonna go to FOX... so that's a little useless. It doesn't have a prayer at FOX at this point.

Veronica it is.

Anyone know when this is coming back? When I checked my Tivo a couple of days ago I didn't see any upcoming episodes at all.

Sure as hell ain't on tonight (new episode, that is), not with the BCS championship game on ABC...

It'll be back on the 18th.

Maybe we ought to have a thread listing the return dates for all the various shows. I know I've been having trouble keeping up with it.
New episodes are set for Jan 18, 25, Feb 1, and Feb 8. All of those are up against new episodes of LOST unfortunately... arrrrgh.

Anyone get tickets to the texas marsathon? They're getting to see the 11th episode of the season a few days early. Man, I'd have liked some of those tickets...

Yes, one scene, and it kicked ass.

Where did it happen? In Duncan's hotel room? Don't remember.
