left & right liner level input on subwoofer

Dear All,

Does it really matter or will it boost my subwoofer's performance if I will use a Y-adapter/splitter to accommodate both left & right inputs on my subwoofer since my receiver has only one sub woofer output. Currently, I'm only using the "left". BTW, I have a Pro Sub 80 Def Tech Subwoofer and a Denon AVR 1705 receiver.

Thanks! Regards.

Using a Y-adapter will make the sub 3db louder. Then, when you go to re-balance your speakers with an SPL meter, you will end up turning it down 3db to get it to match your other speakers. So in the end, it gets you absolutly nothing.

The only reason to use the Y-adapter is if the auto-on circuit is having trouble keeping a signal.
